The focus of this post is my favorite science fiction and fantasy books. Quite a few of them have already been featured on the blog, I do try my best to grab new books too!
I was planning on doing a standalone segment for our Friday posts, but if you are all interested in a different segment (not theme-specific) I am all ears. Let me know if there is something you are interested in for our Friday posts, unfortunately, I don’t have the time to do two theme posts a week.

I got sucked into this series and completely ignored life for a good two days. I finally forced myself to take a break after book 5. This series is a fantastic science fiction RH. Although the relationship is essential, it is not the story's central theme. Her adventures are, just like in a typical science fiction book with romance.
One, two, things are changing for you. Three, four, monsters at your door. Five, six, no one could predict. Seven, eight, you learn they’re your mates. Nine, 10, it’s time to fight again.
Paige Alice has changed, but she’s not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.
The good. Four annoying and different types of men, who she trusts with her life. A scary but faithful sidekick, and of course, her crazy family.
The bad…Everything else.
Contains mature themes.

I've re-listened to this trilogy quite a few times. It's even better on the re-read. You are dropped right into the action. I was super confused at first, thinking I had somehow missed a chapter. Nope, we are just thrust right into this crazy world. I LOVE it. So much.

I adore this series, and the audio version is fantastic! Although the story is from our MC's POV, the audiobook version has a male voice actor for when the men are speaking. I really enjoyed it. I've recently been introduced to graphic audios, via The Innkeeper Series (not RH) and I think this series would be AMAZING as graphic audio. But I digress.
The author is releasing a follow-up series titled Kings of Underland. I am so excited!
Battle mage or magical engineer? Easy choice, right? Engineer, obviously.

I LOVE this series. The MC is brilliant, clumsy, totally an introvert, and so dang awesome. I love the rhythm each book has and feel so immersed in the world every time I pick up a book. There is magic in this world, but it is a melding of science and magic that enables the characters to reach their full potential. I love that our MC is an engineer, and she brilliantly utilizes science, creating a highly respectable career.

I LOVE this series. The third book (Hunting Monsters) looks to have been delayed. However, I still love and recommend this series. I love our MC, she has gone through a hell of a lot. But she persevered! Definitely worth a read.
Bullshit is spelled ‘You’re a werewolf’.
First, my parents tell me I’m going to be “checking into the Red Roof Inn” every month, and now, they tell me I’m a werewolf?!
Add to that I need to pick a mate and enter into some wolfy marriage—NOPE.

The ratings for this book are all over the place. If you don't have KU, definitely read the sample before buying. I happened to enjoy this book because it made me laugh a lot. I ended up purchasing the actual book, and have the second on pre-order.
After I rescued these jerks from a plane crash, you’d think they’d be nicer to me.
I die, like all the time. My track record of hilarious, freak accidental deaths would be impressive if it weren’t so embarrassing.
And when I come back, I’m naked. Every. Dang. Time.
After my plane was sabotaged and crashed into the jungle, I rescued five male survivors from the wreckage.
I could have let them die, but no, I decided to pull their stupid carcasses from the wreckage. I’m immortal, not a monster.
Yes, they’re hot, now is not the time to do something about that.

“But Did You Die?” is a comedy filled, bully (only in book one), paranormal romance series that includes jaguar shifters, a mysterious underground society, fated mates, and an incredibly clumsy Phoenix. Follow Amaryllis as she discovers who she is and ‘collects’ her soulmates along the way! It is full of humor, adventure, and scenes to entice and thrill you… or to make you unexpectedly snort with laughter. The series will have a HEA…it will just take a little while to get there!

I love this series, but the first book was difficult for me to get through. Her men are grade-A assholes. I don't want to spoil anything, but just know that our MC isn't the type to roll over, and her willingness to forgive reflects what I consider a reasonable timeline, aka not right away.
Mistaken identities, a human in a magical world, and three sexy warlocks. Sounds like the start of a joke, but nope…

After one too many kamikazes on my twenty-first birthday, I’ve made a few interesting discoveries.
First of all… magic is real.
Secondly… there’s a whole supernatural dimension that exists parallel to ours.
Thirdly… I’ve somehow gotten stuck in that dimension.
There are about a billion things wrong with this picture, including the fact that I don’t actually have any magic. Everyone here thinks I do though. They also think I’m a witch named Roxie, the star student at Radcliffe Magical Academy.
Ummm. Nope. Not me. Sorry.
I don’t know where the hell the real Roxie is, or how I’m supposed to get back home, but I’m determined to find out.
Unfortunately, I keep getting distracted by three hot-as-hell warlocks I can’t seem to avoid. Cross, a snarky bad boy who pushes all my buttons, Theo, an incorrigible flirt with a devastating accent, and Kasian, a teacher’s assistant who’s totally off limits.
Even though I’m drawn to all three of them, I’m not sure I should trust them.
Because if anybody finds out I don’t belong here…
I’m screwed.

Alternative dimensions? Yes, please! I really love how the author used the theory of an alternative dimension where your 'twin' self resides. It was super interesting thinking about how things could be similar or different based upon your family in each of the worlds. Could it be possible that there are more dimensions our characters aren't aware of? I feel like this universe has so much potential for future stories. Fantastic series.
I was once an average college student with dreams of the Olympics. A better future had been within my grasp. I was weeks away from graduating from college, and I had just received my invitation to the National Team. Sure, I was still nursing a broken heart and coming to terms with the betrayal delivered to me at the hands of people I once trusted and loved dearly. However, things were finally looking up.
Or so I thought. The news began to report disturbing stories about a new virus. This virus was turning people. The infected became violent and attacking anybody and everybody.
My plans for a relaxing weekend with my friends and family turned into a nightmare. We were told to evacuate to Sanctuary. On our journey to safety, I run into old friends and find myself becoming attracted to them and their friends. I realized that even in the most harrowing of times, I could find solace and affection.
This may be a whole new world and life wasn’t going to return to normal anytime soon, if ever, but at least I had five men at my side to face it with.

I am a super fan of this series. I would love to have a place like their camp during a zombie apocalypse. I adore this writing style, and I feel fully enmeshed in the series while reading it. I am a huge science fiction fan, so the more detail about what is going on, including maps and people, makes me that much more engaged. I cannot recommend this series enough.
The third book was recently released, but it isn't appearing on the series page for some reason. I'm adding a link to the third book here, but don't read the description if you haven't read the first two!

I cannot remember what happens in each specific book, so I'm not going to say much here. There is research, there is science, and there are scientific theories. I adore this series. On top of all that, our MC is a badass, and she takes every opportunity to keep herself and her loved ones safe.
