Hi friends,
I hope you are all doing well.
This week’s theme is from a reader request, and I’ve got to say this was the most challenging one yet! I am disappointed I couldn’t find more dance books that haven’t already been featured! Usually, I read the samples to vet the books, but I didn’t have enough available books to vet this time around. Luckily they all sounded like something I’d like or contained elements I believe some of you will enjoy.
I’m going to keep dancing/dance scenes in the back of my mind as I read more RH books, and hopefully, I’ll be able to feature more titles in the future.
If you have any themes/scenes/genres that you are craving, drop me a line! I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. ๐
As always, all images and descriptions are from Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn commission from qualifying purchases.
Be well, and happy reading!

P.S. I include the number of weeks a book has been on our weekly best sellers posts. The week count isn’t the total amount of time a book has been on a best sellers list, just the amount of times I’ve caught it. ๐
It all started when I was doing some bare-back riding with my boyfriend, Tommy, atop a rock in Middle-of-Nowhere, Nevada.
In walked this wolf like heโs my mom on a meth trip, staring at us and growling like heโs an over-protective husband. Worse, according to Tommy, Iโm growling back. Next thing I know, Tommy is halfway across the desert and Iโm at an elite academy for Witches, Shifters, Vampires, and Fae looking like I was plucked out of the local trailer park. Oh wait, I was.
Bloodwood Academy for the Supernatural has only one rule: Donโt mingle with students outside your race.
So, of course, that just so happens to be the first thing I do. How can you say no to a Fae male with golden eyes, a moody Werewolf with pack issues, and a Vampire with magic fingers.
My men are not only sending everything into a whirlwind, but now my life is in danger. It turns out that if I donโt go back to my single wide, some jealous females are going to rip my throat out. I need to figure out why Iโm connected to all of my mates, and why the headmaster has it out for me, before I find myself ten feet under.
It’s not just Rae Fox, it’s Rae Foxx. There’s too much ‘x’ here for just one x.

This book is a lie and doesn’t belong on this theme…the second book does! Apparently, this battle dance occurs in book two, but I cannot read a series out of order, so I’m putting book one here. I am 100% sucked in after completing the sample, and I cannot wait to give these books a read.
Five years ago, I had an audition for the ballet company of my dreams. Five years ago, my boyfriend purposely broke my toes and ruined my dreams. Two days later, I found out Iโm a witch.
I thought my ballet days were over. I just graduated from the academy to work as a federal agent with the Paranormal Investigation Bureau. I get called into the office for something that could change my life permanently. Meaning, I could die. That ballet company I never got to audition for is doing The Sugar Skull Girl. This ballet has never been seen on stage before. I donโt have the full story, but rumors are that any time someone tries to attempt this ballet, things soon turn fatal.
Iโve been told to strap my pointe shoes on and use my witch abilities to go undercover at the ballet company. I had my reservations about taking this job, even if it had once been a dream of mine to dance for The P. The artistic director is a horny Unseelie rake who makes casting decisions with his cock. The prima ballerina here needs to retire, but sheโs totally toxic about making sure no one upstages her. She has a club of mean girl ballet dancers willing to ruin careers just for the spotlightโฆor maybe just for fun.
Not only do I have to survive gossip, hot male dancers who like to sniff around new ballerinas, and toxic prima ballerinas, I have to figure out what is going on with this ballet before we all die. I might not like these people, but Iโm here to save their lives.

Okay, information overload in that prologue. And not in a bad way! I got our MCs entire backstory in a few pages and somehow am already emotionally invested in her. I’ve already added this to my TBR pile, and I’m sure I’ll be reading it very soon.
This series is now complete, and is available as a set on Amazon. ย The individual books are also still available.
From the gutter to the stars…
Dance is in my blood.
Itโs what keeps me sane, out of trouble. It used to keep them out of trouble too.
A group of boys I grew up with.
Xeno, York, Zayn and Dax.
We were a crew once and we ruled the clubs.
Separate we were insanely good, together we were unbeatable. F*&ing on fire.
I was their girl and they were my Breakers.
Until they did something they promised they never would; break my heart.
We were seventeen when they left me.
You see, for kids like us, dance was all we had.
Growing up in a rundown housing estate in London with no prospects can make you view the world differently.
It can make you choose the wrong path.
I chose dance, and they chose crime.
Three years later Iโve won a scholarship to Stardom Academy. I try to forget my past.
But how can I do that when the four boys who hurt me are back?
And this time theyโre following in my footsteps and joining the academy too.
**Freestyle is book one of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy romance for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. Contains foul language and sexual scenes and ends on a cliffhanger.**

The prologue was a bit ominous…but the first chapter gave me Step it Up vibes. ย The series has been featured on our RH Best Sellers list posts for quite a few weeks, and I can see why from the sample. ย Well written, and the plot sucks you in.
I live in a world where people are ruled by animalistic impulses and none are more than me.
Weak, too easily influenced by others, my kind are best married off to be protected by my mate. So that’s what I’m doing, attending soirees and parties with the glittering elite, looking for the man that will complete me.
Then I meet him.
Orion Ratcliffe, heir to Ratcliffe Industries and all around bad boy, we’re shoved together by his parents in the hope of a match.
But what he wants is something else altogether.
He has three mates, some of the biggest, baddest men in town, each more beautiful than the next. The last thing he needs is another, more socially acceptable partner. So in exchange for my help in deflecting his parents’ attentions, he’ll Bridgerton the situation, squiring me about town, drawing other men’s eyes, helping me find The One.
So why is it their gaze I feel on me the most, tracking my every movement? All in the name of protection, of course.
Society wants me to be a good girl. They don’t want another mate.
But fate? She has completely different ideas about our futures.
Author note: Does not included shifters. May sound like a historical romance, but its contemporary! 18+ This book is a standalone, so no cliffhanger with the potential of other interconnected books with other FMCs
Thoughts from Paigeย
Our MC wants to find a mate(s) during the pivotal ball of the season. This reminded me of a historical romance, except RH style! I did read the entire book. I wasn’t sucked in enough to the world to feel I needed to read the next standalone in the series immediately, but I do have it on my TBR pile.

I have a planโkeep my head down, stay out of the way, and graduate. If I stick to it, I can escape and finally be free of my father’s suffocating grip on my life. My plan does not include four stubborn, rich hot guys that just happen to run Harvard Academy. Brent, Cole, Tristan, and Axel are the top of the food chain. All the boys want to be them, and the girls want to be with themโexcept me. The thing about spoiled rich boys… they’ll do anything to get what they want. These four have set their sights on meโa sweet, innocent pawn in their game of little white lies. And now my plan is f****d…

Folks, whew. I’m fanning myself reading the sample. Quads. I don’t think I’ve read about quads before. I can’t imagine sexy group time with four brothers, but I am so here for the delicious yummy goodness x 4. Yes, I will be reading this one; pass me the ice water because that was a super sweet meet-cute.
The ONLY caveat…I can’t tell if there is actually a dancer in this book. It came up because a reviewer used ‘dance’ in their review. So there may or may not be dance. I’m keeping it on the list until/unless someone tells me differently.
Okay I lied, two caveats. ย The books are not on kindle unlimited. They are currently each $.99, but I’m not sure if they are on sale or if that’s what each book typically sells for. So definitely give the sample a good read, and if you are only considering it for dance I’d hold off until someone can verify there is a dance in the second book.

From Book 1: Iโve always felt like an outsider, trapped in a world where I didnโt belong. Until the Summer Solstice, I didnโt know how true that was.
When four mysterious fae males corner me in the street, they bring terrifying news: Iโm not human. Iโm a changeling, a fae swapped at birth.
Under their powerful yet infuriating guidance, I return to Otherworld to train at their academy and determine to which of the four faerie courts I belong.
But thereโs something much more dangerous than the four fae vying for my attention. A strange dark magic looms on the horizon, the bloodthirsty courts are plotting for power, and changelings are dying.
My only choice is to fight back and try not to lose my lifeโฆor my heart.
A Dance with Darknessย is the first full-length novel in a fantasy series with an epic setting, dangerous fae magic, romance that doesn’t require choosing, and a feisty heroine determined to fight back. This is a revised, expanded, and improved second edition of the original volume.

I’ll admit, this fits the letter more than the spirit of our theme this week. ย However, the first book begins at a dance club AND t is available in audio format. ย With those two things going for it, I just had to include it, right?
My name is Peyton, and I have a charmed life. I live in a beautiful mansion on top of a hill and want for nothing. My fatherโs successful, and my motherโs devoted to seeing me and my siblings succeedโฆ Oh, waitโฆthatโs not my life at all. Thatโs my half-sisterโs life.
Until recently, I had no family, aside from my mom and dad. My life consisted of secrets, escape, two best friends, and most importantly, dance. But when my mom drops a bombshell on me, that weโre moving to her hometown hours away, all the secrets come out, including the fact that the man who Iโve called dad my whole life, is really my uncle.
So now itโs a new school, new life, new town. And let me tell you, this town hates me. My life has never been a bed of roses, to begin with, but being here? Itโs hell. My best friends are far away, my dance career is on hold, and the family drama is movie-worthy. The only thing thatโs worth getting up for in the morning is my new friends, a group of guys who have made it their mission to put me under their wing. They bring me into their circle, determined to protect me and help me on my new path.
But sometimes, we get in our own way. Sometimes, you canโt walk alone.
Sometimes, the only way to live your life is to lean on the ones who love you.
***Peytonโs Path is a Contemporary Reverse Harem. This book contains some triggering content that may be sensitive to some readers. ***

This inclusion comes from flyingbird. Thank you so much for bringing this up! I really enjoyed the fist two books in Sanctuary, another series by SM Oliver. ย I have a vague memory that I have also read these books, but I don’t remember enough to give it any good commentary.
My dream of becoming prima ballerina is dead.
Dropped by the Royal Ballet, I return home to my empty house in Cornwall with nothing but ghosts, and memories of a past I am desperate to forget. It takes months of depression before I pull myself out of the bleakness and attempt to start living again.
With a new job as an assistant to the wealthy but elusive Sachov family, I find myself caught up in a tangled web of desire, pain and sexual awakening that will either destroy me entirely or bring me back to life.
My name is Rose, and I am their muse.

I’m not sure what to think after completing the sample. I found myself checking my progress several times, which I don’t usually do. I guess I wasn’t as engaged due to the prologue. However, I almost hit the ‘read now’ button after completing the sample; I felt the plot was picking up.
They came for me in the dead of night. Silent like ghosts. Three faceless men with one thing on their mind, revenge.
The Dancer
I was stolen.
Ripped from the people I love, and imprisoned in a medieval castle in Scotland with walls as thick and impenetrable as the stone encasing my kidnappers’ hearts. Do as they say and youโll survive this place. Refuse their orders and feel the consequences of their wrath. Everyone here calls them The Masks. I call them my enemy. I may seem fragile, weak, but Iโm not like all the rest. Iโm not just a dancer, or a singer, or a musician that they can loan out as entertainment to sick men and women. Iโm a fighter. I come from a long line of them. This time they stole the wrong girl, and these wallsโฆ? Theyโll come crashing down even if I have to rip them apart myself, brick by bloody brick.
The Masks
We took her. A payment for a debt. A very personal one. With our father โThe Collectorโ dead, we are the heirs to a twisted dynasty with nothing but revenge in our hearts, blood on our hands, and darkness in our souls. Our home bears witness to our cruelty. The prisoners within it, scarred by our wrath. Weโre the soulless creatures as twisted as any monster real or imagined. We steal, thieving not just the artist themselves, but the light that makes them shine bright. We must keep up our fatherโs legacy. We must have revenge. The Dancer we stole is ours to play with. Ours to use. She wonโt survive this place. Weโll make sure of it.
WARNING: This is an 18+ dark, contemporary, reverse harem romance and contains graphic sex scenes, violence, dub-con / non-con and subject matter that readers may find triggering. It is not for the feint of heart.

I have listed this one on here before, on a Dark RH theme list. It appears to fit this theme, but it isn’t my typical read, so I didn’t read the sample. Sorry folks, but I’m sure this will match what many of you like to read!
There’s also Peyton’s Path by SM Olivier, though the series is unfinished as of now
I can’t believe I didn’t think about that! Thank you so much, I’ll add it right now for an even ten :). One of my favorite series is their Sanctuary series, so glad you messaged about this one!
Hi! Could you please do one where she’s a orphan and goes live with a rich family or something along these lines? I’m really looking for something like this after reading abandoned girl (it was recommended by you if I can remember correctly) or if you can’t find too much books like this (or did this one already,
and I unfortunately couldn’t find) one where she works under them?
This seems like a good challenge!! Iโll have fun hunting some down. Thank you for the request!
Thanks for the list! Heather Long also has a RH series in which the main female character is a dancer. The series is called 82nd Street Vandals. I recently discovered it and really like it.
