Summer is upon us, and dang has it gotten busy. Have you all noticed a dip in your reading habits?
I ended up reading some quicker books this week. I’ve not been in the mood for a series lately. I want to get in, get out, and get on with my life. HA!
If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them! I’m alway looking for mew books to read.

After escaping an abusive relationship, all I wanted was to focus on my career. The last thing I needed was to get involved with another man—
Let alone three of them!
Just when I thought nothing could be more enticing—or more forbidden—
I encountered Rory Beckett, the irresistible firefighter and my best friend’s older brother.
Fate brought me back into his life, along with his equally captivating brothers, Darren and Jeremy, at a cozy barbecue.
Determined to stand on my own, I tried to resist their charm.
But when my vengeful ex turned stalking into his new obsession,
The Beckett brothers insisted on keeping me safe within their shared home.
As I found myself living with all three of them, our chemistry became undeniable,
And they assured me that I didn’t need to choose just one.
Happiness and satisfaction were finally within my reach,
But when a fire set by my ex jeopardized my life and newfound love,
I might never get the chance to reveal my true feelings,
Or share the news of the precious miracle we’ve created together.

Progress: finished
Prospect: I'd read more by this author
Positives: Nice, sweet book.
Problems: None for what it is.
A werewolf, a gargoyle, a phoenix, and a demon walk into the bar…Yeah, it sounds like a set-up to a bad joke. But this is my life, and it just got weird.
Jade:
As a hopeless romance author, I go out to a local bar, looking for something to cure my writer’s block. When I discover four of the hottest guys I’ve ever seen in real life, this forty-year-old homebody finds all the inspiration I need.
For my books, of course.
But when I dare to take a couple of sneaky pictures with my phone, they catch me ogling.
Now, I believe they are following me. Maybe they’re worried that I overheard something I shouldn’t have. From how shifty they were acting, they might be involved in shady dealings.
Arran:
The little witch was spying on us. I need to find out who she’s working for.
Is it for the Witch Council? If so, then I don’t need to worry… much.
But if it’s for our sworn enemy, then I’m not above a bit of torture so I can find out what she knows about our friend’s death.
Either way, her mesmerizing hazel eyes or those lush curves won’t save her now. The four of us have been burned by a woman before.
Never again.
Bewitching Her Monsters series is a medium burn why choose paranormal romance series about one witch and her five love interests.

Progress: Finished
Prospect: will read the next
Positives: oooo so much deliciousness going on! Plots here, plots there. I cannot wait to see if my theories are correct!
Problems: Felt too short.
For once, I thought being an orphaned slave would keep me safe. Yet when the dragon princes come for their promised bride, Lady Cordelia, they take me too. Why? Because they are immortal assholes who like to hoard.
But when Cordelia is killed, the dragons have a big problem: if they return without a human mate, they’ll lose their throne.
So we strike a deal. I play bride in exchange for my freedom. All I must do is survive the bridal trials, manage the mating mechanics, and remember that dragon royals are killers, not friends.
All I must do is not fall in love.
Dragons’ Captive takes place in Lunos, the world of Alex Lidell’s best-selling Power of Five novels. Expect spice, fated-mate bonds, powerful dragon shifters, and a fake relationship that turns all too real. Ready to be stolen away alongside Kit? Then one-click Dragons’ Captive now!

Progress: finished
Prospect: I'll read the next one
Positives: I'm definitely engaged to see what's next...
Problems: The harem. UGH. One of them crossed a line that I'm not sure can be redeemed EVER in my book.
No one truly ever leaves Shadow Moon Island. I thought the vicious wolves were the enemies, but it turns out that they are the least of my problems. A greater power lurks in the shadows, waiting to claim something I’ll die before giving up. No one messes with my pack.
I’m taking power back. No one will stop us.
Shadow Moon Island belongs to the wolves. It belongs to me.
Please note, the date of release will be moved.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: Skipped ahead
Prospect: I'll likely come back to it
Positives: This is a wonderful story line.
Problems: I think I just was tired of series at this point, so it's a me problem. They did something they new was wrong in the beginning, and I just couldn't look past it. Doesn't detract from the series, and if I wasn't so blergh I'd have read more.
None of us expected to live more than a few days when our friends and family became the walking undead, consumed by the Mortem Mori virus.
The zombie apocalypse came and went, and humans formed a new world in the chaos.
The Bend is a law unto itself. A town on the edge of Haven City, and ruled by greed and fear.
I might be a mercenary, but I’ll do anything to protect my people. Our ragtag community looks out for each other. We kill for each other.
When a set of important blueprints goes missing, my boss wants the mess fixed pronto.
The offer is too good to be true.
Find the plans, and he’ll buy my freedom.
But there’s a catch.
I have to work as part of a team. Four men chosen for their skills. Each one more dangerous than the last and I’ve had enough of dangerous men to last me a lifetime.
I’ll do anything to protect the Bend. But what about protecting my heart?

Paige's Perspective
Progress: in progress
Prospect: will likely finish
Positives: I love zombies/end of the world books
Problems: It seemed a little slow paced, which I wasn't expecting. I'll go back into it, as I'm about 75% through now.
All hell broke loose. Literally.
Ten years ago, Lucifer and his Four Horsemen escaped from Hell, toppled the U.S. government, and conquered our country. Today, humans have two options. Live in one of four Sectors controlled by the Horsemen or survive in the Wastelands of what used to be the United States.
But I’m a survivor.
Me? I chose the third option. Join a rebel organization plotting to assassinate Lucifer and his Four Horsemen to end the Demon Apocalypse. It turns out that the King of Hell and his four demon generals have weaknesses for beautiful women, and I’m the sexiest, badass bitch in this rebellion. Oh, and I’m not the type of woman to sit back and wait for someone else to save her.
Now, my options are sex or death.
My boss didn’t warn me that my first target, Famine, is an incubus. When I track him down with my best friend, he marks me with a kiss and seals our bond with the most mind-numbing orgasm I’ve ever had. I become his sex slave. Now, if I don’t get down and dirty with one of humanity’s greatest enemies, I’ll wither away and die. Oh, and if I succeed in my mission to kill him, then I die, too.
I am so screwed. In more ways than one.

Progress: finished
Prospect: will read the next one
Positives: LOVED the plot. There was so much to unpack.
Problems: This was a Kindle Vella book, and I missed the disclaimer at the bottom of the synopsis. My bad. I think this series has a TON of potential. I just think this first one could have been fleshed out a bit more.
I thought after surviving the wild world of Shadow Moon that my life would be easier. Being moon-blessed saved my life, but it ruined my future. I’m still trapped on this messed up island, forced beneath the men who think I deserve to bow at their feet. But down here, I have an advantage. I can use their savage natures against them.
It’s the only way to break my leash and ensure they drop to their knees before me. I’m not the answer to their diminishing population, nor will I ever be their saviors. I’m leaving Shadow Moon, and I’m taking the strongest with me.
The moonborne will see they’re losing control and aren’t the powerful creatures they think they are.
My humanity will win. I will rise.
