Hey book lovers!
This week was okay for me in terms of reading, but I’m starting to feel like I’m in a bit of a slump. I just can’t seem to get into the groove, you know? I feel like I didn’t do these books justice, especially since many of them are highly reviewed.
At any rate, I was able to read or start six books, and my usual thoughts are below.

Positives: I really liked seeing Lucifer in the harem, I'd like more of that!
Problems: I can't quite get over the specialness of our FMC, I can't say more or risk spoiling it. I just can't wrap my head around it.

Prospect: I'm not sure
Positives: I really enjoy the fantasy elements in this, tons of potential. I like the different nations and characters, and all the delicious intrigue it brings.
Problems: I thought this was a duet, and feel things could have been wrapped up at the end of the book. There are a lot of directions for the author to go, but I'm not sure I'm invested enough in our FMC. Maybe I'll do a reread now that I know this is a series and not a duet. The reviews are quite positive, so maybe it was just my expectations that there would be a conclusion at the end to the book that brought it down for me.
Fight or f*ck. That’s how the Eschats live.What started with unsolicited d!ck pics that led to an @rgy has resulted in the end of the world. While I’m happy in my new life with the seven Brothers of Eschat, living in their underground world of Manaalanian, there are questions left unanswered. Questions that require a lot of d!ck-in time to contemplate, make plans, and decide to put forth an effort to solve.
But we don’t actually find the person responsible for setting the end in motion. He finds us. And he needs our help to set the world right because now there’s something else interfering in his endeavor to rebuild civilization by unaliving everything that is left.
I said it before and I’ll say it again; at least the men in this weird world are hot and hung. There are worse ways to spend my days. Like running from things that are set on killing me while my men fight for their very existence.

Positives: This was a nice bonus, I had thought the first book complete enough that I didn't have a ton of burning questions left.
Problems: The characters didn't seem quite themselves, although it was pointed out the harem was only willing to see what the heck was happening due to their love for our FMC.
Sometimes, the worst monster is the one that stares back at you in the mirror.
I was used as a pawn in a sinister war.
I spent my entire life slaughtering demons and consuming their souls one by one—now, I’m fated to three of them.
The secrets of my past haunt me, and the truth of who I really am comes as a shock to us all.
The only way to right my wrongs is to make sure it never happens again.
I must put a stop to the bloodshed and align with the very monsters whose lives I’ve threatened.
We will win this war if it’s the last thing I do.

Positives: I quite liked this series.
Problems: I didn't look it up, but it feels like there was crossover from another series. I'm not that bothered to read the series, because I didn't like how the female character acted, she just didn't jive for me. But that isn't really a problem with THIS series 🙂
I was supposed to die and go to heaven, too bad I ended up in hell.
Everyone wants to end up standing at the gates of Heaven, but I took a ninety-degree turn into Hell after my fatal car accident, waking up in a dark room with no one and nothing around me except for Adonis, the cheeky third prince of Hell with a killer smile, to tell me all about my impending judgment day.
Next thing I know I’m surrounded by not one, but three demon lords and their father Lucifer Morningstar. Each of them calls to me on a level I’ve never felt before, and when it’s revealed just how deep the connection goes, it turns out that we’d all do anything to get rid of this curse. . . all the while I might be falling for them in the process.
So these days I’ve been thinking. . . What’s the use in being good when it’s so fun to be bad?

Positives: This book was really interesting, cool concept.
Problems: I didn't fall in love with anyone, FMC or the potential harem, in this book. I was hoping it was a setup for book 2.
Betas are made for business, not pleasure.

Positives: Super creative take on the alpha/omega trope! I don't want to give anything away, but I've not seen a setup like this before. Very clever.
Problems: Hard to write this without a spoiler. I was sobbing, SOBBING, at a very specific point in the book. OOOF. Did not see that coming. Not sure it was needed or what it gave to the story.
