After sobbing my eyes out reading Death by Laura Thalasia, I needed a fun post to lift my soul (pun absolutely intended).
Taylor Swift is releasing her rerecorded album Red on November 12. I’m a HUGE fan. So somehow, my exhausted mind combined my glee for the album along with my thoughts about reverse harem. Before I knew it, I thought about RH books that sort of jive with her original songs.

I loved this take on the alpha type within the shifter universe. Our MC is an Alpha female wolf in a world where that just isn’t possible. She has to find a more dominant mate than she, yet she is in love with a less dominant wolf. Their love will doom them both, but they can’t walk away. Loved this book; I definitely recommend it.

She is one badass MC. The book begins with her husband killing her, and she is out for blood. LOVED this book. This is definitely a darker book, and I was rooting 100% for the MC the entire time. Screw that man; he was definitely trouble.
Rage (Her Monsters Book 1) by: K.A Knight
My husband killed me.
Then he screwed his way through the city, the only problem? I didn’t stay dead. It seems killing me woke something deep inside, something so dark and buried so deep I never knew it was there.
I don’t know what I am, I don’t really care. All I can think about is revenge, even as the monsters in the dark start to surround me. Their horns and black eyes, mouths filled with fangs claiming I am theirs.

I struggled with what book to pair with this iconic song. Taylor Swift is releasing a 10-minute song on her rerecorded album, along with a short film, all surrounding the events in this song.
I, along with almost every TS fan, adore this song. It touched me so deeply when it was released, and finding a book that would match it was difficult. I ultimately landed on Seeking Asylum due to the relationship between our MC and her ex-finance.
A substantial portion of this novel deals with the MC and her grief. She was betrayed by her best friend, the boy who told her stories, thinking his future was with her. Our MC is paralyzed when the novel begins, and we can see her slowly healing. Yet, at the same time, the rest of the world literally falls apart.
This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, series that is currently being written. I ADORE both books and cannot wait for the third. I feel like the author handles incredibly hard topics with grace and honesty. I highly, highly recommend it.
Sanctuary: Seeking Asylum Book 1 (Seeking Asylum Series) by: SM Olivier
I was once an average college student with dreams of the Olympics. A better future had been within my grasp. There were two books I had slated for this song, and I just had to go with A Cock & Bull Story. The tone of the song jives with the tone of the book.
Our MC is in college and stumbles upon a group for shifters that are lower down the food chain. She is totally focused on having some wild nights and having anyone she wants. However, the entire purpose of attending the group is to try and change her ways. Super funny, I love the series. Recommend.

I read the first two and thoroughly enjoyed the books. Our MC is learning to question her actions and beliefs. Although this song is written as a love song, I’m stretching it to fit our MC thinking about her home and almost reaching out or contacting them.

Snow Patrol is one of my all-time favorite bands, so this has always been a personal favorite. I’m pairing it with Vaugn in good faith; I really enjoyed the first three books of the series. It sounds like this book will focus on priorities, and the MC may be feeling a bit forgotten about. Let me know if I’ve gotten it totally wrong!

Our MC is in love and feels like it is returned. However, when it is time to pledge themselves, her LI rejects her. So she leaves her pack and tries to move on with her life. But she never forgets him. I need to finish this series, really enjoyed this book.

I read this one a fair bit ago, so hopefully, my memory is correct. The story begins with the LI’s trying to save their college newspaper. Our MC starts writing a serial that goes viral, but she worries about the subject matter. The LI’s want her to dream bigger, to dream of impossible things. This is a duet. I don’t recall re-reading it, but I did give it high marks on Goodreads to recommend it.

The characters are all beginning again. They are working both on their art and themselves, and it was a nice love story to read.
