Happy Friday!
I hope you all have something to look forward to this weekend. Maybe it will be one of the books listed in this post!
It was a more normal week for me. I’m super excited about some books that are coming out end of April/beginning of May.
Are you all looking forward to anything in particular?
As always, all images and descriptions are from Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn commission from qualifying purchases.
Be well, and happy reading!

I live a normal, boring life.
Work. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. The only joy I get is the brief rushes of adrenaline that only come when I’m on my motorcycle.
All that changes when five strangers walk through the door of the diner I work at. The connection between us is instantaneous and undeniable. That is until they tell me I’m their Alpha – the first female Alpha in over a thousand years. That breaks the spell pretty quickly.
Naturally, I laugh in their face and don’t believe them.
But after a suspicious death of someone close to me, and when I’m attacked by a man who turned into a wolf right before my eyes, I have to reassess what I know of my world.
Then I’m saved by the five men who seem unperturbed by the whole incident, I can’t pretend that wolf shifters don’t exist anymore.
With their help and guidance maybe I can navigate this new world.
Hopefully in time to stop whoever is after me.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: Finished
Prospect: Started book two
Positives: I like the idea for the book.
Problems: Not loving the harem. Â At all.Â
The lake is lovely, dark, and deep…
And with my monsters I will sleep.
When a secret society offers me an invitation to stay in their isolated forest retreat, I can’t possibly refuse. Not if I want to find out what my mother was hiding before she died.
But it’s not just any forest. The noises in the woods at night aren’t animals—they’re monsters.
They watch me from the trees, slither through the lake, and creep in the shadows outside my window.
By day, the society hides their secrets from me. By night, I disappear into the world of monsters and discover secrets of my own.
Secrets about being meant for their world, the Void.
About how they’re going to keep me forever, enthralled by their claws and primal hunger.
Possessed with desire for fangs and horns.
Embraced by tentacles and their insatiable cravings.
But I’m not just here to dig into the past.
The society’s retreat is not what it seems. There must be a sacrifice…
And that sacrifice is me.
An Invocation of Monsters is a steamy fast-burn standalone romance with knots, bioluminescent tentacles, and three possessive monsters. For mature readers only.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: In progress, I've been stopping/starting
Prospect: will likely finish
Positives: I do love the idea for the void world.
Problems: I'm not sure how many times the author will be able to tell a story, it's pretty similar. Â Hoping the next book changes it up a bit, maybe a larger harem or something. Â
Her whole life has been one long escape plan, but one thing you can never escape is your past.
Just survive.
That’s been Ember’s goal since discovering that a murderous realm sent a shadow monster to kill her. Her only chance at survival is to unravel the secrets of her true identity as a ruthless army of darkness hunts her down.
It will take a miracle to save her. Like four powerful wolf shifters who are willing to burn the world down to protect her.
But when the secrets of her past are finally revealed, it sets in motion a series of events that will not only test their will to survive against all odds but survive each other.

Broken Moon is book two of the Wolves of Thunder Cove Series and features a heroine that doesn’t have to choose. One woman and her protective shifters. Each book follows the next in a continuation series and is not standalone.
Fated mates, reverse harem series, and a dark shadow realm that will stop at nothing to take them down.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: DNF
Prospect: DNF the seriesÂ
Positives: This just wasn't for me, but a lot of people liked it. It was good writing, just didn't jive with me.
Problems:Â Â I can't remember much, but I DNF'ed it
Cindy works day-in and day-out in her stepmother’s bakery, trying her best to keep the business afloat. A series of meetings with three handsome strangers and the news of three nights of balls held at the palace so that the three princes can find their bride, open Cindy’s eyes to a life beyond her little bakery. But will the threats from her stepmother ruin her new life before it can begin?
*This a short and sweet insta-love novella, low steam, low angst. It depicts a journey of self-love through comfort and acceptance.*
Paige's Perspective
Progress: finished
Prospect: Potential
Positives: This was a fast read. Â Definitely has a lot of potentialÂ
Problems: Felt like it was written for a YA audience, not a problem per-se, but I don't believe it was marketed that way.
Ready… Set… Oops…
I thought entering the Elven Games would be the best way to free my father from his Fae prison… Turns out, someone else already signed me up, and I can’t refuse to play, even if I wanted to.
Whoever it is, wants me dead, and they’re not fighting fair.
With a lost prince, a cocky Elf, a dominant Phoenix that I love making burst into flames, and a crazy murder snake that’s definitely stalking me, I might survive… Maybe. Probably. Well, hopefully.
The last thing I expect on top of all the other drama, is to have men fighting over who my true mate is. Apparently I’m Heart Bonded to all of them.
Just when I think I’m figuring things out, the man I’ve called father for 25 years might not be who I thought he was… and I might be something more than just a Witch….
Why choose Romance, 8 plus love interests, light hearted read.

Progress: Finished
Prospect: LOVED it, pre-ordered book 2
Positives: I think I've just found another favorite author!! I was laughing while reading this. The FMC is awesome. I cannot wait to see where this story goes.
Problems: Too short! I need more!
Little Red Riding Hood had a big, bad wolf… I have four.
I didn’t even know werewolves existed. Or that the story my parents used to tell me about a mythical Moon Goddess was real.
But it’s true—all of it—and that means, the part about her gifting me with only twenty-five years of life is too.
With my final birthday looming, I’m on a mission to save myself, but that mission ends up throwing me in the middle of two warring werewolf packs.
Now, the rival alphas and their two betas have me in their sights.
Torin, Noble, Mathis, and Dax are sexier than sin, but they’re hunters, killers, some of the most powerful men in the shifter and human world…
And they want a taste of me.
They’re in for a surprise: I might not be a wolf like them, but I’m never prey.
Bestselling authors Harper A. Brooks and Brea Viragh have created a world of magic, heat, and bloodthirsty wolves. In this paranormal romance series, the heroine will end up with more than one love interest.

Paige's Perspective
Progress: FinishedÂ
Prospect: Â will likely read book 2
Positives: Interesting plot
Problems: I wanted more characterizations, I didn't understand why characters were making the decisions they were, it was hard to connect to the harem.
Well shiz. Things are not going the way I planned. My danger-noodle stalker is apparently one of my Heart Bonded. Add to that list a lost Orc-Elf Prince…and his brother… That was an awkward conversation, because they didn’t even know they were brothers. Surprise! Now you have to share the same girl for all time! Yay you. Did you know there are endless realms, all interconnected? Did you know I’m definitely not from the realm I was raised in? Oh cool, neither did I… The trials are getting harder, and so is my life. As soon as I get close to finding answers, I only end up with more questions. Like, what the hell realm a Succubus is from. Why choose Romance, with 8-plus love interests.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: finished
Prospect: pre-ordered book 3
Positives: I love all the characters. Â It's a large harem, but I feel like I know each individual. And I really love our FMC.
Problems: Too short!
Five men have changed my wolf. And I’m not sure if it’s for the better.
Being unable to shift, having been rejected by one mate, and trying to prove my worth in this new world, I’m finding myself nearing my breaking point.
With the fall of Moon Born Academy, things go from bad to worse.
Despite the devastation, there’s no time to lick our wounds. With a deadline to prove that I’m not the enemy, the mounting pressure to accept what I’ve lost, and needing to overcome an impossible feat, my futures doesn’t look very bright.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: DNF
Prospect: DNF series
Positives: I really liked the idea of the first alpha wolf since their goddess. Â
Problems: Her harem sucks. Â I'd like to ditch at least two of em. Â Unforgivable. Â Also, our FMC needs to trust herself. I thought this was a series with a strong female lead. Â Nope, not yet any way.Â
The highly anticipated new ‘why choose’ romance from the author of THE CHALLENGE, RIDING WITH WARRIORS and EQUINOX.
Not one, not two, but three new stepbrothers. Life is about to get very interesting!
This is exactly what’s happened to Clarice Miller. Her mother’s fourth husband has three sons, all unique in their own way.
There’s city boy, Parker, who gives her what she’s been searching for.
Hugh, a hunk of a fireman with a wild side.
And then there’s the eldest brother. A too-hot-to-handle killing machine who turns up fresh from a war zone all brooding and mysterious and with very particular needs.
Only time will tell if Clarice can keep her cool when her life reaches boiling point and if she’ll be able to bend to all her brothers’ wills at the same time.

Progress: Finished
Prospect: I'd read this author again
Positives: I finished it, it was good for what it is. It was a quick read on a lazy day.
Problems: I definitely have to be in the right frame of mind for this.
Hello, I’m Fenella Colt.
I thought I was human, but recently I found out that’s not the case. My parents aren’t even my real parents, come to find out. Instead, I’m some lost child of the supernatural world where fantasy creatures and magic coexist side by side.
Even more strange, I know I’m not like the others in this new academy I was brought to, a place where I can learn about my magic and my new world. Everyone manifests their magic and supernatural sides differently, but I’m just extra special, I guess.
I’m the first Unknown supernatural and no one knows what that really means.
I have a slight addiction to anything sweet, and I apparently have a bigger hankering for three gorgeous princes and a dashing professor who are relentless to gain my affections.
But my time may not be as sweet here as I hoped for.
There’s an evil group called the Night Hunters who want to take over and rule over all supernaturals, not to mention I have to figure out what I am and where I came from before my powers get too out of hand, while trying to survive magic school.
Strange and dark forces are working to tear my new home apart, but with the help of my new best friends, the princes, and a handsome professor, we might just make it through my first term at White Rose Academy.
White Rose Academy is the first book in Fenella’s series. It is a paranormal, slow burn, why- choose romance. It contains material that may not be suitable for all readers including, strong language, adult scenarios, explicit sexual content, and other graphic scenes. This book ends on a cliffhanger.
Paige's Perspective
Progress: Finished
Prospect: Will read the next one
Positives: Good story line, there were enough hints dropped to figure it out, but still a good run
Problems: Tense change. Â Past/present. Â It was jarring. Â I didn't notice it util the later half of the book.
The three hottest hockey players on campus just asked me to tutor them…And I just declined.
But when they witness me literally fall flat on my face in front of my crush, they propose a “tutor with benefits” arrangement.
I’ll tutor them in chemistry so they can keep swinging their hockey sticks.
In return, they’ll tutor me in the kind of chemistry that gets my crush to notice me.
I should have declined again.
Instead, I agreed to their stupid arrangement.
And now three hockey gods are in my tiny dorm room, teaching me how to kiss and showing me their impressive stick skills in bed.
Zach, the dark-and-handsome right winger with a big heart and an even bigger…hockey stick.
Taylor, the sexy center with a chiseled jawline and piercing blue gaze.
And Cory, the scorching hot left winger who sends sparks up my spine with a single look.
I’m not the kind of girl hockey stars end up with.
I’m more the introverted, straight-A’s, bury-her-nose-in-a-book kind of girl.
And I never meant to fall for a player…let alone three.
Will my heart still be in one piece after this arrangement is over?
Or will three cocky hockey players break my heart?

Progress: Finished
Prospect: I'd read another book by this author
Positives: Â It's exactly as advertised; quick, fluffy read.
Problems:  The book is what it is, I'm not a fan of the weird love triangle-ish  thing that occurred at the end; one party was her harem, the other a single love interest.
