Hello, my dear friends.
I hope you and yours are safe and well.
Omegaverse was the request of the week. Omegaverse, sometimes known as ABO, is a world built on the basic principle that alphas are the most prominent/strongest, betas are either the ‘normal’ ones or the seconds in a pack, and omegas are either weak, treasured, or vital for breeding.
I have a love/hate relationship with Omegaverse novels. In some cases, I feel it veers too far into the “biology made me do it, I couldn’t stop myself” camp. I dislike that excuse and sometimes feel it is an ‘easy’ way to ‘forge a connection quickly to move the plot forward. BUT to each their own, I know this is a prevalent genre/trope, and I have read quite a few books with this theme that I adore.
Long story short, I’ve included books that I have read and didn’t love because the reviews are pretty positive, and I know we all have our individual tastes. Usually, I don’t put a disclaimer like this; it just happens to be that I’ve read quite a few books on the list and didn’t just rely on the samples this week.
Hopefully, you can find a book on this list that scratches your omegaverse itch! Let me know if ya’ll are interested in part two; as I said, this is a pretty popular theme.
As always, images and descriptoins are from Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn commission from qualyfing purchases.
Be well, and happy reading!

Baby’s heat is coming…
After years of assuming she was a beta, discovering her omega designation in a biker bar surrounded by alphas isn’t exactly fulfilling any fantasies for Baby. She only wanted to have a fun night, not get knotted, bitten, and bonded. Now Baby’s entire life is about to turn upside down. With her heat on its way, she needs to find a pack, a nest, and alphas she can trust.
The Late Night Howlers have given up hope…
After years of waiting for an omega to choose them, this motorcycle club of alphas is ready to move on with their lives. Until one sweet woman takes a chance on them. A rundown bar and apartment building is no place to spoil a new omega but the Howlers are determined to do right by Baby when she needs them. All they have to do is keep her satisfied while resisting the mouthwatering temptation to bite and bond her, permanently.
When a rival MC comes sniffing after Baby, her safety is put at risk and the Howlers may be torn apart forever.
Thoughts from Paige
The Sweetverse series is an omegaverse, and each book focuses on a different character. It is a very popular series, but note that some books are by Kathryn Moon and some are by Lana Kole. I've only read the first three books (I lied, then book with Lola as the MC is a two parter) and while I enjoyed them, I haven't re-read them.
First comes love…
Then comes marriage…
…and then comes my con-artist husband selling me to werewolves on our honeymoon.
On the run from my cruel captors, I stumble into Grayhaven. This secret supernatural settlement is packed with biker demons, fae royals, and witches dealing in death-magic. Their small town could be my salvation... or doom.
But when the Grayhaven werewolf pack tracks me down, I feel the noose of impending capture tightening around my throat. I’m an omega, the least dominant werewolf in the supernatural world. If I’m given an order—any order—I’m powerless to refuse.
The five dominant werewolves could enslave me with a word. Instead, they take me in, protect me, and call me their mate. I want to believe that they are mine... that I’m safe.
Yet, there is a malevolent darkness hunting me and it won’t stop until it’s claimed me once more, body and soul.
If you love sexy-as-hell alpha werewolves, feisty heroines, fated mates, and dominant shifters who would do anything to protect their mate, get ready to devour this medium/fast burn reverse harem romance!
Escaping Monsters is the first book in this steamy new Why Choose werewolf series by Alexa B James and Rita Stradling. This book is for 18 and over only please.
Thoughts from Paige
I LOVE this series. Sadly the third book is not yet released. It looked like it was all set for an October 2021 release, but I haven't been able to find any details since. Hopefully, we'll get it soon!
I live in a world where people are ruled by animalistic impulses and none are more than me.
Weak, too easily influenced by others, my kind are best married off to be protected by my mate. So that's what I'm doing, attending soirees and parties with the glittering elite, looking for the man that will complete me.
Then I meet him.
Orion Ratcliffe, heir to Ratcliffe Industries and all around bad boy, we're shoved together by his parents in the hope of a match.
But what he wants is something else altogether.
He has three mates, some of the biggest, baddest men in town, each more beautiful than the next. The last thing he needs is another, more socially acceptable partner. So in exchange for my help in deflecting his parents' attentions, he'll Bridgerton the situation, squiring me about town, drawing other men's eyes, helping me find The One.
So why is it their gaze I feel on me the most, tracking my every movement? All in the name of protection, of course.
Society wants me to be a good girl. They don't want another mate.
But fate? She has completely different ideas about our futures.
Author note: Does not included shifters. May sound like a historical romance, but its contemporary! 18+ This book is a standalone, so no cliffhanger with the potential of other interconnected books with other FMCs
Thoughts from Paige
Our MC wants to find a mate(s) during the pivotal ball of the season. This reminded me of a historical romance, except RH style! I did read the entire book. I wasn't sucked in enough to the world to feel I needed to read the next standalone in the series immediately, but I do have it on my TBR pile.
One Omega, four Alphas, their pact...
I may be an Omega, but that won’t stop me making my own way in life. I've fought for my place at this elite college despite my background, my designation, and a family who thinks I can't make it on my own. I'm determined I won’t end up as a play thing for some Alpha.
But when I catch the eye of The Crew — rich, entitled, and insanely hot – I’m slowly seduced by a new world of pleasure and passion. A world I never knew existed.
Soon, I’m the toy for a whole pack of Alphas.
All but one.
And in this pack it’s all for one, and one for all. That’s the pact. If he doesn’t want me, I can never be theirs.
And I’m beginning to realise that being theirs is exactly what I want.

If you love the sauciness and steam of omegaverse with the sweetness of contemporary romance, heroes with hard shells and soft interiors, and heroines who fight for what they want, you’ll love Hannah Haze’s soft and steamy books - omegaverse set in our world.
This novel is a standalone with happy ending guaranteed and British English spelling and usage.
Thoughts from Paige
Recently released, not only is this one already a best seller, but it has a TON of positive reviews. It is a super sweet book, focused on the romantic relationship and not a lot of action/mystery/suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this light-hearted read.
Betrayed by my father, matched with a mate-killer, I do the only thing I can: I run.
The world is a different place than it used to be. You’re either an alpha, a beta, or an omega. Three distinct classes, each with their own natural instincts. Alphas are strong and fierce, leaders in their own right, and they’re always male.
Usually…
After slowly poisoning me for the last five years, my father is all too happy to pawn me off to an infamous mate-killer. Ever since my inner alpha awakened, he wants me gone, and he doesn’t care if he sends me off with a death sentence.
I leave the city, not knowing where I’m going. Somehow, I manage to stumble across another outcast alpha—this one all broody and angry—and a ridiculously cute omega. Rhett and Chance. They made a life outside the city, and though I don’t want to stay, my heart tells a different story. My alpha wants to claim them.
But some men refuse to be denied, and my mate-killer won’t take no for an answer.
**Mates Unwanted is a full-length, standalone RH/Why Choose romance (86k words). It contains steamy scenes, M/M content, and violence. **

I wanted this book to be longer! I felt like the characters could have been given more time, maybe splitting this into a duet. But I read this entire book and remember liking it, although this isn't on my re-read list.
I don’t know who I am, nor why I’ve been imprisoned. They want me to confess, but I can’t remember doing the atrocities they’re accusing me of, so I keep silent instead. They hate my silence.
They call me Wisteria because of my purple eyes, and they’ve vowed to make me talk. Officer Stone uses every cruel trick he knows. Father Rivera says he’s a man of God, but his eyes betray him sometimes. Warden Green is the only one who’s kind to me when he doesn’t let himself be consumed by his own darkness.
I feel drawn to the three Alphas, though I should know better. If the corrupted system doesn’t break me first, these powerful, twisted men will.
Author's Note: This book contains dark themes and possible triggers. It's intended for mature audiences only. Read it at your own risk.
Thoughts from Paige
Ya'll should listen to the Author, this is daaaaark. I actually had to stop reading, even though I really liked the high-level concept. For those of you that enjoy the dark themes and non-consent moments, this is definitely your jive.
Drawing, my online clan, and planning my escape from my mother--these are priorities. Or, at least they were, until three huge alien Alphas came to abduct me and take me to their planet. But it's not just a simple process of probing and then releasing me back to Earth. All those movies are lies. These three males keep me. And I'm suddenly a cadet at an Omega Academy where I'm supposed to learn how to serve the Gretar Fleet. None of this makes any sense to begin with, nevermind the three Alphas I can't seem to avoid. But they say we have a connection, that we're a circle, whatever that means. And my body seems to agree, because anytime they're near, I can't seem to think of anything except Kyte's horns, Jeren's smirk, and Ceredes's long, hard ... sword. Focusing on class is almost impossible, and the Omega Academy isn't for the faint of heart. I have to learn who my enemies are, how to make friends, and how I fit with the three males I can't stop thinking about. All doable, right? No. Not right, especially when I discover the fleet has other plans for me. The bond with my three Alphas may be the only thing that can keep me safe, but that means we need to consummate our circle. Yeah, you read that right, consummate. Deep. Breaths.
Lily's Note: Omega Academy is a full-length novel and the first book of the Omega Academy trilogy.

I'm not sure what to think about this one. I started the sample, and before I knew it, I'd read the entire book. However, I didn't immediately download the next book in the series. I wonder if there was just too much happening, and yet not enough. I know that doesn't make any sense. It's an interesting take on the omegaverse in that this is a science fiction book rather than fantasy. Definitely read the sample if you don't have KU. If you have KU I'll be interested to hear if you end up just finishing the book like I did before you knew it.
Cyra, a rare Omega phoenix shifter, has had a rough week, to say the least.
First, two playboy Alphas, a hydra and a griffin, start showing up at the cafe she works at. Their teasing making her all hot and bothered, no matter how much she tries to ignore them. And then she accidentally accepts to play a princess at a spoiled shifter kid’s birthday party, where her crappy old car promptly breaks down. Luckily, or maybe she’s just cursed, a cerberus and a centaur Alpha are there to save the day and give her a ride home.
For years, Cyra has managed to hide herself from other shifters, pretending she’s human. Because she doesn’t want her parents to marry her off to a rich asshole Alpha for money and status or to be kidnapped and bred like some other rare Omega shifters. She wants her freedom, to be able to make her own choices, and both of those things are taken away the moment she’s mated. Once she’s claimed by an Alpha, she’ll become that Alpha’s property, and she refuses to live like that.
But now everything she’s worked so hard for is falling apart around her. Money is tight, and with her crappy car constantly needing repairs, she won’t be able to afford the medication she needs to stay hidden from shifters, especially with the mating season only weeks away.
So she makes a reckless decision and takes the cerberus and the centaur up on their offer to be their date to the yearly Night Gala, an exclusive shifter event for bachelor Alphas, Betas and Omegas, though it’s not uncommon for humans to attend too, as ‘dates’ or serving staff. Their offer is too tempting, one night of boring chats while looking pretty, and all her money problems will be solved.
That is, until the hydra and griffin Alphas also appear at the Night Gala and everything goes to hell…
This is the first book in the Her Shifter Harem’s Babies series, a paranormal Omegaverse reverse harem #WhyChoose story. This book may include any of these elements: steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author). This story includes MF and MM scenes.

This is one of those omeverse series that made me a bit uncomfortable. I read this entire book and liked it. Apparently I liked it enough to purchase the next book, but I don't recall reading the second. I think I should give it a re-read, but on my first read it teetered over that non-consent line and I'd rather the characters overcome their biology. In Deep managed it well, in my opinion.
One night is all it takes to change Quinn's life forever.
Quinn is used to being a punching bag for her cousins and the uncle who raised her, but when they take it too far one night, she finds out she’s not quite as human as she believed. Bruised, broken, and terrified, she runs for her life.
The last thing she expects is to run right into three alphas—a witch, wolf, and vampire—all of whom immediately try to protect the hysterical and newly awakened omega. She’s heard enough about alphas to know she won’t be safe with them for long, but with her abusers being her only alternative, she isn’t exactly eager to return home. Lucky for Quinn, there’s more to these alphas than meets the eye. Perhaps they’re all the home she really needs.
Their group continues to grow, with two betas quickly making themselves part of the coven, and having their balance finally settles something in them all. It’s too bad that the world outside them is far from satisfied. The species aren’t meant to mix, and the traditionalist supernatural community is ready to rip apart any relationship that breaks the status quo.
With everything on the line, what can one omega do?
This novel is part of The Knottyverse, a series of books set in the same ABO world.
This is an omegaverse standalone intended for readers eighteen and up. There are some elements some readers may find triggering, such as violence, mentions of sexual assault, and abuse.

Even though this book has been on the bestseller lists for weeks, I never gave it a shot. I'm so glad I finally read the sample! I was leery about starting it due to the trigger warning, but honestly, it didn't cross that line for me, at least not by the end of the sample at any rate. I'm digging this book so far; our MC isn't one to give up.
Fight like a girl...or a shifter of lore.
After growing up with nothing, I've finally found my path to freedom: I'm a shifter, an elite soldier who transforms into a monster.
All I have to do is survive.
I didn't count on my three 6'5 roommates. Covered in tattoos, jeweled, and horned, these are like no men I've ever dealt with before.
They don't think I belong.
They don't think I'm strong enough for war.
They don't think I can fight.
I'm about to prove them wrong.
The only problem, can I survive them discovering the secrets of my past? In the battle for life and death, everyone is so much more than they seem.
Jax, Ascher, and Cobra are going to be devastated when they discover my truth...just wait until they see my shifted form.
Thoughts from Paige
I devoured this book and cannot wait for book two. The author was kind enough to alert me to specific themes/tropes, so a big shout out to the author; thank you!
There is so much to unpack in book one, and I loved the mystery aspect of it. I'm still trying to figure out the truth of what is going on. I am definitely sucked into this universe.
P.S. the author indicated there would be mm in this series.
