Hi everyone!
I’m hoping to kick off a monthly or quarterly featured author post. Quare Eligere suggested it when we first connected, and I recently saw a blog post featuring a designer over at hellegrade.com. The post provided me with the guidance and inspiration to give it a shot!
To kick us off and give everyone an example of what I’m thinking, I’ll interview myself. If there are additional questions you would like included for authors, please leave a comment or contact me.
Authors, if you are interested/willing to be a featured author, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me or fill out the form in the ‘For Authors’ section! I don’t need anything except a bit of your time. 🙂
Right, let’s get started.
All about Paige
Who are you (personality-wise) in 160 characters or less.
I love to learn. Over the last couple of years, I learned how to quilt, watched bob-ross videos, found a love of painting with my kiddo, and took up a ton of artsy hobbies. I’m addicted to lists and schedules, and I have post-it notes everywhere. Data is my jam, and I’m itching to analyze our bestseller lists!
Do your friends and family know your writing genre? If so, was their reaction what you expected?
My hubs and a couple of close friends know I now run the blog, but no one else. My hubby is very supportive and somehow knows many of the terms I come across. He says ‘everyone’ knows them. Like vore! Who here had heard of that term?! He also helps me analyze some of the group sex positions; I don’t always get how they are anatomically possible!
As an aside, my biggest fear is being eaten alive. Jaws scared me. So vore is just something I can’t really think too much about. One of my friends kindly informed me that our saliva begins the digestive process, so every time you kiss you are ‘digesting’. Thanks, pal…
How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?
Ya’ll have been so nice to me so far. I haven’t had to deal with negativity. I’d probably cry or something and then have to tell my hubs not to spam the site haha.
What do you subconsciously find yourself doing while working?
I hum while I work, and when I work on something challenging, I dream about it. My subconscious solves a lot of my problems. It may take a few nights of weird dreams/nightmares, but dreaming about something almost always results in clarity.
Do you have anything you want to say?
I want to say how much I sincerely appreciate and respect the founder of this blog. Quare Eligere helped me through much of the Pandemic, like many readers here. I found most of my reads on this blog, and she helped keep me sane.
I was worried that making these posts would detract from my reading enjoyment. The opposite has happened! I read samples before putting a book up, and I’m finding many books with different themes/tropes that I wouldn’t ordinarily pick up. Searching for reader requests has enriched and expanded my reading habits.
That’s a wrap! I’ll include any links, book images, blurbs, etc. that the author provides as well.
Are there any questions you want to be included for authors? Leave a comment or reach out to me via the contact form.
