From Steamy Scenes to Intense Passion: 13 Reverse Harem Books I Couldn’t Put Down

Friends!

It’s summer break where I’m at, so I’m packing up the family and taking a holiday next week. I’ll still do my Sunday best sellers post, but there will be no theme posts or ‘what I read’ posts next week.

Hopefully, my massive binge of books this week will help soothe the break. I read an enormous amount of books. As you can see, I went on a bit of a zombie/dystopian bender. There is just something about zombie books, in particular, that are simply chefs’ kiss.

I wound up reading 7 books in a series this week. Instead of listing each book individually, I lumped them under the first one.

I hope you can find some fun new books from this list or the best-sellers list that will come out Sunday.

Be well, and happy reading!

Paige

Amazon Description

How am I surviving the apocalypse, you ask?

Easy.
I’m not. Apoca-WHAT?!
A marine, a doctor, and a zombie, make an entrance and act like I’m supposed to know what to do with them.
Usually, if it rained men, I’d be singing some sweet hallelujahs. I’m singing alright, but it was more from the kick to my metaphorical manhood.

Still, I’d need all the help I could get.

WARNING: A past with abuse that’s lightly mentioned for the FMC. PTSD reactions from one of the men. M/M sex scene in chapter 32.

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Can't find the next book

Positives: This had a lot of potential.  I think it was an interesting premise.

Problems:  I do wish it had been a bit more fleshed out. A lot of other reviews touch on the same things I saw, the characters definitely needed more time to develop.  I'm sad that this series seemed to stall after this book, there was a lot of potential for a longer series.

Amazon Description

Four Demon Warriors. The last Serafim. One dark cell.
Andora:
I’m the last of my kind… a Serafim. I was taken prisoner as a child, and my parents murdered. There is no other known living member of my species to teach me the extent of my powers. All I know is that I can magically heal with my touch. But if Krillon, an evil warlord, wants me, then there must be much more to my abilities than I realize.
Abducted once again, this time from the rescue sanctuary, I’m imprisoned with four males from a violent warrior species. I’m forced to aid in their torture. With their massive size, horns, and tails, I worry that they will pay me back for my reluctant part in their torment, thinking me their enemy. Does Krillon wish to test my healing abilities? Or perhaps he wishes to trigger a dangerous power from within me?

Rylak:
I know that our torture is meant to be the beatings we suffer. However, my pack and I feel that the true nightmare is in the hope that we have found our fated mate in this forsaken pit.
Does it matter when we cannot protect this innocent female as we crave to with all our cursed souls?
Or will Andora’s presence make us fight that much harder to escape and take her with us?

Chained Fates is a Science fiction Dark Alien Omegaverse Standalone Romance novel.
This story features one female with more than one male love interest.
Trigger Warning: Sexual content and adult themes. It contains potentially triggering situations, abuse, explicit and steamy love scenes, knotting, nesting, alien demons, angels, magic, evil villains, and murder.

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Will read more by this author

Positives: Liked the premise and the action.

Problems: Miscommunication.  My least favorite trope.

Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend, got it wrong.
It turns out, bones are a girl’s best friend.
Not that kind of bone… get your mind out of the gutter.

We’d arrived at the museum, and everything was going well. Okay, fine. That’s a lie.
It had gone exactly like the rest of my life had since my dino mates had come crashing into my life… which is to say, it had been a catastrophe of prehistoric proportions. By a weird twist of fate, we’d narrowly avoided being arrested after we’d destroyed the fundraising gala and terrorized the guests.

Things didn’t go as I’d planned for the rest of the trip, either. Especially when Albert decided to slip his leash and go looking for his own little souvenir to take home….
Except, he didn’t go shopping in the museum’s gift shop.
And it wasn’t exactly a replica that he picked out.

Which really sucked, since the absolute last thing I needed was another dinosaur shifter to deal with….

Dino Magic is a light-hearted romantic comedy series with a whole lot of steam! This isn’t a save-the-world type of story, but rather it focuses on Arizona’s coming into her hidden abilities. In each book she will be tracking down a gift, or a fated mates that been left by her great-great-so-many-greats-I-can’t-even-type-them-all-grandmother.

This is a paranormal series, not a serious true-to-science series. So, if you are hoping to learn about dinosaurs, this probably isn’t the read for you. If you want to giggle hard enough that the people around you think you’re crazy, then this might be the book for you!

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Will read book 2

Positives: I love Sedona Ashe.  This is a great series, and I did find myself laughing a lot.

Problems: I did enjoy this plot, but I want to know more about the ending and what we learned, even if it was hinted at in book one.  Book three cannot come fast enough!

When my writing career went up in smoke I decided to retreat into a pit of self pity and despair until my best friend pulled me out, bribed me to help her with her own business and reinvent myself.
That was how I found myself attending an ice hockey game and learning the ins and outs about the team to help launch the successful blog for my friend by painting the latest expansion team with a shiny, brilliant brush all whilst using it as inspiration to find my Muse again.

What I didn’t expect was to fall for not one, but four men hard and fast, battling my desire to make our unconventional relationship work all whilst trying to keep my past a secret.

But the past has a way of sneaking up on us and when it finally catches up, it may just cost me the men I love, the friendships I have built and risk all of their reputations and opportunities for success as well…

Iced up love is a standalone HEA in the new Sports Sensual series and is a why choose /reverse harem romance where the heroine doesn’t have to choose between her love interests. Guaranteed no cliffhangers!

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Hmmm, undecided

Positives: Interesting to see a RH in a contemporary sports setting.

Problems: This seemed a lot like how NOT to start a harem. Miscommunication/no communication.  Yikes.

My name is Inez Garner, and my story has sort of been told… But not. I’m turning twenty-three and find out I’m not human; I’m apparently a vampire. Sure, who hasn’t read that story? Oh, but I’m a princess. And there’s a zombie apocalypse—although I’m debating where the line is of apocalypse vs. post-apocalypse. There’s also a quest that I’m compelled to be on, and it might all be coming from the Goddess.

Awesome. It seems She has big plans for me. And I have to deal with ghosts. When I kill corrupted—the nice PC name people call zombies, as it’s not their fault they eat people—I then have to deal with their ghosts. Which is super when being hunted for years by some guys I don’t want to know better.

Add to everything, I have to apologize to heroines for judging them when they fall in bed with the hot guy and buy the story he gives. I get it now. Sex is splendid. I’m not one to believe a con, but he’s got answers I need, like why I have no memories before I was eighteen.

Plus, the fangs sort of sold it for me. I hope he forgives me for shooting him.

House of Garner is an apocalyptic hot burning WhyChoose romance with darker elements, strong language, violence, and a heroine who doesn’t let anyone get in her way.

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished all 7 books

Prospect: Will read book 8 whenever it is released

Positives: I binged this entire series HARD this week.  Couldn't put it down.  I laughed, I cried.  OOF.  I really hope we get the next book soon. Also Zombies.  I love me some zombies.

Problems: It's a long series. Really long.  I kinda tap out of a series around book 5, but I'm invested, and I want to keep going.

P.S.: I read all seven books this week, but didn't want to write basically the same thing for each book.  So this one entry counts for 7 books that I read.

Amazon Description

The old phrase “boys will be boys” didn’t work here. We were young and dumb and oblivious to the beings who shared the world with us. We should have been smarter, but we weren’t.
A prank gone wrong now has me and my twin living our life as one. Never to be human at the same time, our curse for our cruelty. The only person who knows what we are now is our younger brother.

One person can break the curse. One who can love us despite our flaws. But it’s been years and she still hasn’t made her presence known. Our hope is fading, and we have resigned ourselves to living this way the rest of our lives.

A chance encounter on a deserted road brings us our first glimpse of hope and a love we never expected. Will it be enough to lift the curse and return our lives to us? Will she want us when she finds out what we are?

What we didn’t know was that she had her own flaw, her own story. Could we look past it and open our hearts to her?

The Charlestin Curse is part of the Fairytales with a Twist multi-author series. Expect dark retellings of your favorite fairytales. Please see the author’s website for content information.

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Will likely read more

Positives: I liked the twists on these fairy tales, interesting how things weaved together.

Problems: I wanted to see more about how the characters fell in love, and more character development.  I wasn't sure I saw that one of the MMCs really learned his lesson, because of the people he hung around with.

Amazon Description

When Nadia made a deal with a demon, she didn’t expect it to place a huge roadblock in the way of her goals.
Joining a guild, she hopes to fill the void of not having a real family. That’s all she’s ever craved. Unfortunately, with near death experiences, meddling gods, and the possibility of having more than one fated mate, the goal seems harder than ever to attain.

Can she keep her chin up and her rainbow hair shining bright, or will the darkness catch up with her?

This is a standalone fantasy reverse harem romance, previously published as a vella story, but with BONUS scenes only available in the ebook and paperback.

Paige's Perspective

Progress: Finished

Prospect: Will read more

Positives: Super interesting plot

Problems: I still don't understand some things.  If she's got a god in her pocket, why not save her sisters?  Things like that.  I think if this went through some editing to close some plot wholes, it would be really great.  Overall I liked it.
