So, I’m whisked away, told to forget them and I do, right up until they walk in through my door, telling me all the things I’d secretly dreamed of.
That I’m their fated mate, and that they refuse to settle for anyone else. But I’m forced to push them away.
Because their parents were right to send me away. I’ll never be what they need me to be, but these guys?

I’m certifiably insane. Just ask my amazing therapist. He’s my soulmate and a vampiric serial killer. There’s no one I’d rather stalk more.

Except no more late night slinking for me. I’m in The Asylum, committed as a danger to myself and others. They tell me I’m delusional, which they aren’t wrong…except about what.

See, this place is made for supernaturals too dangerous to let roam free. The doctors, the staff, the family members that helped put us here are all in on it, trying to convince us magic is just another delusion. They plan to keep us here forever–sedated and docile.

Aren’t we all just perfect test subjects for inhumane experiments? Well, the doctors think so at least.

Yeah… it’s time to bust out of the loony bin. Unfortunately for our zookeepers we’re the most dangerous supernaturals there are and we haven’t been taking our medicine.

A genetically modified super alpha wolf monster. An ultra rare basilisk, so venomous he can’t leave any skin exposed. My dreamy serial killing vampire therapist.
Oh, and me. A genetic marvel, one of the few dhamphyr to ever exist and probably, just a little… more crazy than most.

Nighty, night Asylum. Don’t let the nightmares bite.

Author Note: Full-length STANDALONE! This is a why choose/reverse harem dark paranormal romance where the female lead does not need to choose between her three male love interests. There are m/m scenes, steam, and mature themes including: violence, language, and etc..

Thoughts from Paige

I’ve had this book on my list for a while now, ever since it was nominated as one of the Best RH of 2021 here on the site.  This may just be my next read, the author packs so much in a single sentence.

“Stalkers weren’t supposed to accidentally stalk serial killers and they definitely weren’t supposed to abruptly realize they weren’t the craziest one in their obsessive relationship.” Woah.  I learned a crap ton about our FMC from that line alone.

I LOVE when authors assume we can keep up, and don’t spell everything out for us.  Please keep in mind I’ve read exactly one page of the first chapter.  I couldn’t let myself go on because I want to finish the book I started at 4 am today.

Okay I lied, I read to the beginning of the second page too and had to stop at “murder cooler”.  Seriously, thank you to whoever nominated this book. I’ve just bumped it up on my TBR list.

Update: I’m going to leave my initial thoughts here.  It fits this theme request, if my memory serves me correctly.

Amazon Description

My name is Freya Viotto, and I’m the daughter of the original vampire. Sounds like a line out of a movie, where there’s some epic tale of self-discovery and an exciting battle. Sadly, that’s not my story.

Freya Viotto is a vampire, but her legacy is different from those of her kind. In fact, it’s different even to that of her brothers. Freya is the only daughter of the original vampire, and she’s taken on his curse. As a child, she racked up kills faster than she learnt how to walk, and as she’s gotten older her power has only grown. The good thing is, so has her control.

But, her parents decided for her safety and that those around her, she’d spend her immortal life contained to her Clan. However, when her family are caught up in a sick, twisted attempt to kill one of their allies, Freya finally gets to earn her freedom.

The biggest catch? Freya has to track down her mating circle—her entire mating circle—and convince them to mate with her, whilst doing her best to stay alive. Because whilst she’s happy to finally be free, she’s one of the rare few. It’s her job to stop the rogue vampires that are now disloyal to the monarchy, and hope that she can keep her growing powers under control.

Freya’s Freedom is the first book in a vampire reverse harem series where the FMC will end up with more than one mate by the end of the series. It’s a slow-building harem but is a fast-burn and there is a guaranteed HEA. This series is set in the same universe as The Luna Series and is best read in conjunction with those.

Thoughts from Paige

It’s been a while since I read this book, and I didn’t rate it on Goodreads. I usually wait before rating something if I’m not sure how to rate it. So I didn’t hate it or love it enough to rate it accordingly. To be honest, I’m not sure what I thought of it. So I’m absolutely no help, except to say I did read and finish the book.

Amazon Description

I rejected my fated mate and didn’t regret it for a second. Until now.
Shipped off to Ravenscroft University, a graduate school for the supernatural elite, I have a lot to live up to. As the heir to America’s most powerful pack, my life up to now has been spent in a gilded cage. But not for the reason you might think.

I was locked away, not to be protected, but because I was born broken. A disappointment to them all. A wolf who couldn’t shift.

This is supposed to be my fresh start, but my past won’t leave me alone. Not when he’s here. The arrogant wolf shifter who ruined my life after I turned him down seven years ago. Now, I’m a pariah, followed by the rumors my rejected mate has spread, hated by my classmates, isolated again.

From everyone but them.

A vampire prince.

A forbidden priest.

A powerful demigod.

A bully wolf.

I’m playing a dangerous game, and the rules say I can’t be with them. Then again, rules are made to be broken.

And when every moment spent with them brings me closer to finding my wolf, how can I stay away?

Warning: This book is not for the faint of heart. It contains an obsessive stalker, a foul-mouthed, inked and pierced werewolf, a naughty professor with a fondness for watching, a god of mischief, and plenty of heat. If you don’t like your books spicy, your men broody, built, and more bad than good, this is not the series for you. But if you do…read on, and welcome to The Mate Games.

Thoughts from Paige

I strongly recommend reading the reviews of the book before you dive in. While there were parts that I loved, there was a certain character that just didn’t resonate with me. However, everyone’s experience is different, so you may enjoy character & interactions in a way that I didn’t.

Thoughts from Paige

The angst is high in this one.  It’s not explicitly stated, but heavily implied, that the harem are all virgins.  It’s part of the Silver Springs  universe, and is a quick read.

Amazon Description

The Abbot House has been cursed and abandoned for twenty-three years. Until now.

When Harriet’s mother receives a mysterious letter in the mail with the news that the curse is about to end, she wastes no time in uprooting Harriet’s life and moving them to the spooky New England town of Weeping Hollow.

Unlike the rest of her family, Harriet has no real magical talent—except for the unusual ability to see and interact with ghosts. A stupid and useless gift, in her opinion. Her lack of magical abilities has always made her feel like an outsider among other witches, and that feeling only solidifies when her fellow witches begin hazing her at her new school.

Things improve when Harriet befriends a group of amateur ghost hunters. Owen, Spencer, Nolan, and Mattie are some of the first people to ever accept Harriet for who she really is. But when they decide to investigate the deaths of two ghosts who constantly follow Harriet around, they accidentally uncover much darker and more dangerous secrets than they ever anticipated.

Thoughts from Paige:

I read the book when it was released, and while I don’t remember all the details of the plot, I did enjoy it enough to mark down the sequel on my to-read list. It’s definitely more of a young adult/new adult book, with the characters being high school/secondary students. As I write this, some of the plot is starting to come back to me, and I’m looking forward to diving back into the story with the next book.

When an Omega turns 21, he or she is to attend Calling Wood University in search of their packs before their first heat.
Well, you see, I’m not like what society has labeled what Omegas should be. I don’t want to play homemaker and submit to a bunch of Alphas. So when I take Calling Wood by storm, I’m quick to show that the typical Alpha packs just won’t do.

I’m determined to find my scent match. And refuse to take a pack unless it’s who I’m meant to be with. Call me stubborn, but I know what I want.

After meeting almost every unclaimed pack in the school, I start to lose hope. That is, until I catch the scent of something that has me weak in the knees.

Tristan, Finn, Sawyer and Dominic are not like other Alphas. They’ve given up hope on finding their Omega, making school their whole lives. They don’t think they are good enough, worthy enough, to have their happily ever after.

But these sweet nerdy inexperienced boys aren’t going to know what hit them. I love a challenge and I’ve made it my mission to prove they are worthy. That we are worthy.

We Are Worthy is a non-shifter sweet standalone with lots of steamy moments. It will end on a HEA.

  1. I don’t think that A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing has a virgin main character. Riley isn’t a virgin I think. It’s been a while. Sorry I’m not much help but I don’t think that the book fits into the theme.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment! I don’t think she is either, although it’s hard to remember.

I think at least one of the men is, but it’s been awhile for me too. HAHA.

I did a quick skim of the beginning and it sounds like the men’s wolves wouldn’t respond without the FMC. I may have interpreted that as they were virgins. Drat, so hard to remember!
