I’m struggling with the second, it sounds like an amalgam of books I’ve read, so I keep confusing myself. None of the suggestions below fit exactly what you mentioned, but they all sort of fit.

I’m pretty sure the second book you are refering to is Courting Darkness by Katie May and Quin Arthur. The sequel, Seducing Shadows was released March 25th so that might be why it was in recent posts.
I enjoyed the first book a bunch but the second book was a but too intense for my tastes. However, I’m sure many people will enjoy the series. I just tend to lean towards more fluffy books. Hope this helps.
