We’ve made it to the weekend! I hope we can all get at least a few hours of rest, and time to read some deliciously dark books!
I’ve gotten sucked into a few books from our last MM post. Yummy.
Did anyone give the Fate Hollow series a try? I stayed up way too late reading book one and wasn’t able to finish before work. sigh (P.S. I just realized this wasn’t from the MM list and was a new release. I am so bummed I have to wait for the next book!)
By pure happenstance, we ended up with quite a few audible books this go around. I highly recommend checking hoopla before buying, why pay if you can listen for free?
If you don’t have an audible subscription and tend to listen to a lot of books, you might want to Try Audible Premium Plus and Get Up to Two Free Audiobooks. If a lot of your books are also available from Kindle unlimited though it probably isn’t worth it. As far as I know, once you download the kindle book the audible price will be discounted, and it is often cheaper to buy the audible book than spending a credit that may be worth about ~$14. Something to keep in mind.

At the time this post was published, at least one book from the Blackmoor Heirs series had been on an Amazon Best Seller list for ten weeks. That’s quite a run!
I actually couldn’t make it through the sample, but the writing is good, and the series has extremely high reviews. This is a Dark Romance with lots of bullying.
She was always a bit twisted, but her sweet smiles hid it all away. She was seven when she first took a life, mistake or not, the deed was done. She was a mere child when her life twisted and soured in one fatal night.
Halloween was supposed to be a fun night filled with candy and crazy costumes, but for Raina, it was far more than simply playing pretend. I had to use the image from the first book rather than the box set because the box set does not do justice to this creepy cover. This one seems PERFECT for our theme based on the cover art and dedication. The prologue, my goodness. If you are looking for a dark book, I suggest giving this one a go.

The first book from this series has been on an Amazon Best Sellers list before, in fact, it is on several of them right now. It appears to be a much-loved book, and the series has lots of good reviews.
Our MC seems to be one badass bitch, and I love it. She is unapologetically who she is. Cannot wait to read it.

Here is another book listed under Dark Fantasy, but I’m getting an inkling of some Dark Comedy. So I’ll label this one as Dark Fantasy-Lite. I really liked the sample and have added this one to my wish list. Luckily, our post this week seems to have quite a lot of audible options, so thankfully, I’ll be able to listen while I drive to work!

So…have you ever started a book and then had to put it down because of a character’s name? Well, I can’t read this book because of a name. Is that just me? The name rarely pops up in books, and I’m so sad I can’t give this one a go. I wish I could do a find & replace on it! haha. This series has a ton of great reviews and is also available on Audible.

I like this writing style and am looking forward to this. I like that it is available on audible. I’ll probably end up listening to it in audio format, and I’m grateful we are getting more RH available in that media type. Don’t forget that little trick with audible. It’s cheaper if you download the kindle unlimited book first. Make sure you aren’t wasting a credit when you can buy it for $7!

I had to power through the beginning of this book. The MCs initial escape seemed to happen quite suddenly. I know the author was building up to it, but I guess I wanted more inner dialogue.
Anyway, this is a slight retelling of the little mermaid, so I will definitely be reading it. I love me some good fairy tale retellings.
