I totally get it. It’s hard waiting for the next book to release in a series. So you think, “okay, I’ll read something else while I wait.” You finish that book, and at the very end you see that it is not a standalone. In fact there is a sequel or more coming. You’re frustrated. So you decide to read something else while waiting on now two books to come out. Shit. Same thing. Before you know it, your TBR list is a mile long, you’re getting series mixed up, and you’re having to re-read because you started the much anticipated book release only to realize you have no idea what is going on. My tbr is long enough to take up the first section of a 5 subject College Ruled notebook. It’s slowly creeping into the next section.
On the flip side of this argument, authors can feel your frustrations. From my general understanding on a few of the book threads I belong to they feel rushed, panicked, stressed, pressured, angsty, pms-y, a few break out the booze, and some…all of the above. See. When people post on a public book thread that authors are a part of we all see the good, the bad, and the straight up fugly. Trust me when I say you do not want an author to rush a novel. It doesn’t end well for the author or the reader as the book suffers in quality. So, while it’s cool to wait for a full series to come out before reading it, be kind. Look for people out there that do the searching for you and try to find the books, or series you’re looking for.
Hopefully, in the following book cover photo, small blurb, and link directly to the book 1 of the series…you’ll find something that tickles your fancy. Or blows your skirt up.
