Friends!
Today is a two-for-one.
You see, I have been trying to find a very specific book for the past several days. I have posted on Reddit, Goodreads, anywhere I can think of. I cannot find it!! I have looked through 700+ book descriptions trying to find it, and although I have so far failed, I have found quite a few interesting reads to add to my list!
So today, I am sharing with you the top books I have stumbled upon while looking for this bloody elusive book.
But wait… there’s more! (BREAKING NEWS, THE BOOK HAS BEEN FOUND!)
Whoever can identify The Elusive Book first will get a $20US Amazon Gift Card as a thank you, from me to you. Just reply using the reply feature below so I can see time stamps.
Please don’t spam the Reddit/Goodreads threads. I already tried and I would hate to have multiple posts from our readers cropping up. I’m just hoping someone in our community recognizes it.
Below is what I remember from the book.
Be well, and happy reading/sleuthing!

The Elusive Book - FOUND!!!
Natalie found it, wooohooo!!! For those of you that went on this journey with me, the book is Queen of Beasts (The Fallen Book 1) by Amber Withers.
Genre: Academy/PNR Reverse Harem (Of course!)
Main Character: She is unaware of the supernatural community. She is the adopted child of a loving mother/father—a first-year college student.
Potential Harem: Demons she winds up living with while going to school. Vampire, Incubus, Merman, twin shifter cats, werewolf….there are more, I believe, but I cannot remember.
Beginning Plot
Our MC is going to college and is set to rush her adoptive mom’s old sorority house. When she arrives at the house, the girls are bitchy and take a picture to try and blackmail her. So she takes her stuff and leaves. Realizing she has nowhere to go and not wanting to call her mom, she sits on a curb to think.
A nice boy comes by, and they talk for a while, and she ultimately decides to spend the night in one of his empty rooms at his house.
Unbeknownst to her, the inhabitants of the house are all demons. —Merman, shifter cats, vampire, werewolf, incubus, psychic, etc.
They find out that their charms/gifts don’t work on her, so they decide to allow her to move in.
Sh starts attending classes and gets to know the guys/demons better.
She gets interested in the theater club. One of the demon roommates (the vampire?) is a pianist and singer and is also in the theater club. They have to work together for the play.
At another point, she attends a fraternity party where some dude tries to date rape her. One of the demons intervenes and saves her, ultimately killing or severely injuring the guy.
Their vampire (?) leader/master shows up super pissed off, and they try to protect her, which ultimately ends in one of them being taken.
She finds out that demons are required to have ‘masters’, and that they are required to take on a new one. Their last one was horrible, and they don’t want a new one. It turns out our MC is part angel, and as such she is able to ‘bond’ with the demons. They all decide they’d rather be bonded to her than some random person, so they perform the ritual at the end of the book.
Not The Elusive Book - But Intriguing!
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. The Academy of the Devil is waiting, and there will be no mercy.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the girl who didn’t fit in, the girl who collapsed in the middle of class, just because my brain decided to turn on me. I can’t really complain, though. We don’t live in the Middle Ages, so I have yet to be subjected to an exorcism. I can get treatment for my condition. Epilepsy aside, I can mostly be a normal person and have a normal life.
There’s just one problem. I’m not a normal person. I never have been. And the first time I find this out is upon receiving an exclusive invitation to The Academy of the Devil.
Unfortunately, The Academy of the Devil isn’t like other schools and the current princes of the school have a lot of experience in ripping whatever contender they have to shreds. First, there’s Callum, incubus extraordinaire and leader of the house of Lust. He thrives on making students fall in love with him and then breaking their spirits. Then there’s Mikael, the envious cambion, rumored to enjoy feeding students to the school’s dragon. And last, but not least, the leader of the house of Wrath, the hell hound Stefan. I hear he doesn’t bother with the dragon and just takes care of pests himself.
All of them despise humans. All of them sneer at anyone who displays any kind of weakness. All of them hate me and everything I stand for. That’s fine. I don’t need friends, lovers, or even valued mentors. All I need is to survive my school years with my soul, my sanity and my brain intact.
It’ll be a challenge, but I’ve dealt with worse. I might not be ready for the Academy of the Devil, but they’re not ready for me either.
The Academy of the Devil is a 74k paranormal bully reverse harem romance. All characters involved in the pairing are 18+ years old. But be advised! The series will contain dark themes, including violence, ableism, bullying of a character suffering from an invisible disability, and other similar content that may be disturbing for some readers. Approach with caution. Once you enter The Academy of the Devil, you will never be the same.
Thoughts from Paige
I LOVED book one. I alternated between listening and reading, and I thoroughly enjoyed both. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!
New life? Check.
Road to a career? Check.
Housemates? Check.
Can you keep your hands off them? Undetermined.
I wasn’t expecting my new housemates to be as hot as they are. And it’s going to be a struggle to stick to my personal rules of no relationships with them.
They’re all so tempting, sweet, and funny. Well, except for one.
Yep, definitely hard.
And with their help, I’ll learn to manage my mischief magic. No more flying, honking toys for me.
But questions rise when more powers surface for me, and it’s obvious I’m not just your average pixie halfling. Can we find answers together? And can I stick to my personal rules of friends only?
~This is book one of a COMPLETE 6 book series~
***Please note this is a Paranormal romance where the the FMC doesn't choose, slow/medium burn featuring a fae halfling, broody vampire, shifters, and witches/warlocks***

One woman on a mission. Four cursed men. A primal magic that threatens to destroy them all…
Sophie has done her best to avoid the magical world for fear of the havoc her abnormal ability wreaks on other supernaturals. As a silencer who mutes the powers of those around her, she’s spent her life among the mortals her defect can’t harm.
But when Mother Nature pushes her from her home to do her bidding, Sophie has no choice but to venture to the magical town of Twin Rivers.
Instead of viewing her presence as a curse, four men see Sophie’s arrival as a blessing. Carrigan, a psychic who hears everyone’s thoughts at all times. Hagan, a bear shifter who transforms at the slightest provocation. Jonas, whose losses have left him isolated and jaded. And Valor, a vampire without conscience or remorse.
Drawn to Sophie, these irresistible men find themselves caught up in a dangerous whirlwind of magic that runs deeper than they can imagine. But Sophie can’t allow her mounting attraction to keep her from her mission—because Mother’s wrath destroys everything it touches.
Fire Possessed is a full length reverse harem urban fantasy adventure!
Thoughts from Paige
This one isn't an academy book, but it did come up during my initial search. I am on book two and only stopped because I'm desperate to find The Elusive Book. I really like the characters and the growth I'm seeing.
Everyone has secrets at Lost Lake Academy.
Following a tragic turn of events, my once-normal teenage life gets wrenched out from under me.
Suddenly I’m the new kid at Lost Lake Academy, a boarding school for the elite of the elite. The students here are nothing like me, and all I want to do is get back home to pick up the pieces of my former life.
I’m determined to keep my head down and avoid high school politics, but when three of the most dangerous and mysterious of my classmates set their sights on me, I find I don’t know whether to run away or try to get closer.
Everyone at Lost Lake has secrets, some more deadly than others. But not everything is as it seems…I might have some secrets of my own.
Hidden Lies is a full length new adult contemporary romance. It is a reverse harem novel, and is the first book in a trilogy.
My name is Ady. I’ve been running, hiding in the open, for as long as I can remember. My goal has always been to appear normal, mundane, so I was left alone.
I had accomplished that for more than a decade but life was calling now. I was finishing my degree and facing what every person faces: life. Consequences. Responsibility.
University had given me a taste of things I’d never had before. Stability. Friends to miss me if I stop showing up. The promise of a future I wasn’t sure I’d ever see.
But it had also shown me what I didn’t have and likely wouldn’t ever get. Anonymity to live this life that I was preparing for. To have a job and an apartment. To keep my friends. To find someone to love me - to build a life with me.
The week before graduation, I was handed a brochure at the career fair advertising something called ‘The Harem Project’ in which you can opt to tie into a family. A group of men. A group of women. A mix. Whatever you’re interested in. Through a series of tests and questions, I was given a tablet with a list of the harems that I would fit in with, based on our compatibility.
That’s where I met the five gloriously gorgeous men of the House of Daemon.
And my life has never been the same. Most days, I’m sure it's for the better. I thought I might actually get everything I never dreamed of wanting.
But other days I was sure my death was going to be much quicker. Because the men - they’re not normal. And what’s been hunting me has now teamed up with what’s hunting them.
They’re not human.
But then, neither am I.
**This is a story in which the female main character does not have to choose between love interests. Story contains violence, dark pasts, briefs glimpses of torture, and explicit sex scenes. Intended for mature audiences.
Five immortal males. One heir to the Glass Throne. One huge secret.
It should’ve been as simple as laying low and not drawing attention to myself at the academy. But laying low when my mother is the infamous Cinderella, and I’m supposed to be one of the last sirens, is harder than it sounds. Especially when I accidentally reveal my big, dark secret to four intimidating and handsome males. What's a human to do? I need to blend in with the other supernaturally gifted students, but even my seductive and mysterious professor is paying too much attention to me.
As far as the seven kingdoms are concerned, I’m an immortal princess. And I’ll do anything to keep it that way.
Magic, monsters, and mayhem, all in this first installment of the Royal Glass Hearts Series.
This is a full-length novel written in Australian English that ends with a HEA.
Why choose?
Be careful what you wish for...
On my eighteenth birthday, I desired nothing more than the chance to explore the world. Make friends. Maybe even fall in love.
I never expected my quiet, sheltered life in the wilderness to come crashing down around me.
But my dad has been keeping secrets. And after a decade of hiding, the past has finally caught up with us. The past, plus six hot guys with secrets of their own.
In a way, my wish has come true. Now, I just need to determine whether that's a good thing.
