Hello lovlies! Dystopian novels continued. Per my previous post we learned that these are typically your “end of the world/end of days” trope. These novels can be futuristic, take place in the present, happen in alternate dimensions, involve time travel, disease, war, dead planets, wastelands, zombies (run Rachel run!), mutated monsters, and the possibilities are endless. These novels tend to be fun reads not because they’re action packed, exciting, and suspenseful, and due to the fact they add romance to them, even better. Even in the worst of times, in the end of days, our Mc’s need love too. Sex can be that perfect distraction. Bow-chicka-bow-wow. Never read a dystopian novel? Look below and maybe one will pique your interest. As always, Happy Reading! – Quare Eligere
“To rid this world of evil, I must first Blaze.”
History tells of a time long ago when small town scientist Dr Isaacs discovered the cure for cancer. Great right? And it was… For a time. The “Advanced” were born.
I am one of few remaining immune to a virus created to kill only humans. Broken, cold-hearted I fight tooth and claw to survive, life in the wastes is harsh every day a battle. Baby and I give no quarter to those who cross us. I just want to find and kill the guy who murdered my mother, and kill him… slowly.
But destiny has other ideas for me. Four men claim I’m theirs, but am I too broken to be with them? Fate decrees we save the world together, but first we must discover who we really are.
My name is Kayla, and this is a story of how war never changes. But humankind does.
I’ve had my eye on this novel for a minute, so this shall be my next dystopian read. 🙂
I may have been born in the Quarter, but I refuse to die here.
I live in the Quarter, the societal cage where all of Cremorne’s paranormals have been locked up, but I’m neither vampire, werewolf nor witch. I’m the lowest of the low, doomed to be one of two things: junkie or vampire’s pet.
Desperate to escape, I’ll do whatever it takes to get out, to get all of us out, even if that means shaking my country and the gods themselves to the core to restore the balance. I’m collecting allies so I can start a revolution and finding power my kind would never dream of, but this game has been in play for a lot longer than I’ve been breathing and there’s a chance I’m just another pawn.
That’s OK, because I am determined to win.
Author’s note: This book is an RH tale, so the MC does not choose one partner, but the romance angle is definitely pretty low key in some instances and is a bit more complex than girl meets multiple boys and falls in love. It takes a lot of its inspiration from 80s urban decay films like The Warriors and Blade Runner, so is kind of dystopian in tone. Politics and how power is used to control is a big theme, though hopefully the reader isn’t bashed over the head by it.
What’s the worst that could happen? Sit down and let me tell you.
The Void Virus has been let loose on the Earth. Caused by experiments gone wrong, an outbreak has ravaged the world. Anyone infected has turned into a decaying empty shell, void of their former selves. The animate decomposing bodies have become known as Rotters, stumbling around for the scent of the living.
Alone in the dark new world where even the dead don’t die, I must fight to survive. Not only against the Rotters, but the remaining uninfected who have turned savage in their plight of survival; the scavers.
As the world I once knew is lost, a new one emerges. Strange things begin to happen. Some are able to wield power over the elements. I develop a strange healing ability. It is unknown if this is a rogue symptom of the virus, or if the solitude is driving me crazy.
Puppy, my German Shepherd, and I have been on our own until four guys enter my life and refuse to leave. Strangely enough, they’re just as broken as I am.
My name is Blyss and we will set this world on fire if necessary. After all… What’s the worst that could happen?
**18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning: this book contains some scenes and references of abuse that some readers may find triggering**
Crushed under the surge, I fell to my knees, abandoning my struggle in the hope that the sheer magnitude of power channeling through my body would be enough to kill me.
Even at the end of days, escaping the past was impossible. In the blink of an eye, over half the world’s population was wiped out and Mira lost everything dear to her. In the face of crippling guilt and her struggle with depression in the aftermath of the ruined world that she helped create, she isn’t sure there is enough left to make life worth living.
White-hot pain like I’d never felt before licked every inch of my skin. I tried to cry out, but my throat felt squeezed.
Resigned to an uncontrollable fate, Mira barely scrapes by day to day. Although her furry companion, Hank, keeps her marginally grounded, he cannot stop her inescapable nightmares that plague her with reminders of her irreparable actions. And as if that wasn’t enough, each morning brings a murder of irksome crows and their gifts to her stoop that constantly force her to relive fragmented recollections of who she used to be.
If I could just save them! I kept pushing until I had nothing left to give, and with a final gasp I fell onto the ground, and everything went black.
When an ominous note is left at her hideaway, however, Mira can no longer live in anonymity. After a chain of life-altering revelations forces her to go on the run, can she learn to trust herself and her magic again? And can she do so while relying on three irresistible brothers who claim they want what’s best for her? Amidst a race against time, Mira must not only uncover who is responsible for tearing her from isolation, but whether or not she truly has the power to protect what is left of a dying world, even if it comes at deadly costs.
This book contains adult situations, and situations of depression and grief.
It’s been five years since the world’s entire female population mysteriously changed into shambling, flesh-eating undead. For Esperanza Costales, that means coping with the loss of her mother, surviving in the Tennessee wilderness with her father and brother, and wondering whether or not she’s the last living woman on Earth.
Esperanza and her family have adapted and learned to count their blessings, but when a group of escaped convicts led by a crazed psychopath named Frankie stumble upon their camp and kidnap her and her father, her new life is thrown into chaos. By taking advantage of a late-night zombie attack, she barely escapes captivity and flees into the forest, alone.
Injured, frightened, and separated from her family, Esperanza nearly loses hope until she encounters a group of four men. Jason, Derek, Roland, and Joseph have survived the world’s end by putting aside old feelings and embracing their harsh new reality, but their routine is shattered when Esperanza enters their lives and brings into question everything they thought they knew about the Apocalypse.
As Esperanza and the men learn more about one another and themselves, will they be able to form a bond strong enough to survive attacks by the undead and pursuit by Frankie’s gang? Will Esperanza ever see her family again? And in a world full of zombies and psychos, will a woman and four men be able to find love through despair?

I don’t fear the walking dead like most people, but that may be because I grew up playing Red Rover with them. Once they begin to decay, they’re not very fast, but they’re guaranteed to break through the clenched fists of the other team when they run through them. Sometimes they break those fists off completely.
When you’ve watched a dead man do the chicken dance upon your order, it’s hard to take them seriously. So death is the one thing I don’t fear. Not when the living are more terrifying.
I grew up with a certain set of rules that my dads and mom instilled inside of me. 1. Always be aware of my surroundings. 2. When shit hits the fan, stay calm and keep a cool head. And 3. Never reveal my secrets. Keep them guarded closely or risk the interest of those that would seek to use my power for their own gain.
Those rules used to be easy. They were what I lived and breathed. That was until I met Nate. Ever since I fell into his dark eyes, nothing has been the same. Four years have passed, and guarding my secrets has only become more difficult, especially when I have the world’s biggest crush on my boss and have grown as close as family to the crew I work with day in and out.
Yet even though guilt is a bitter pill I swallow each time I lie to my crew to cover up some oddity of mine that’s surfaced, it’s what must be done.
And I could have continued to do so. The dead don’t tell my secrets, so confiding in them is cathartic, until everything changes, and everything I thought I knew is tested.
You see, dealing with the living is tough, but the problem with the dead, is that sometimes, they don’t stay dead.
Four blood-sucking princes. A beautiful anarchist. One dangerous mistake.
To the vampires who dominate each quadrant of the Lydian Dynasty, I’m only known as “Blackbird”—a masked vigilante who, at nineteen, is already public enemy number one.
To what’s left of humanity, I’ve been called a superhero, a title I neither welcome nor deserve. My only objective is to offer the enslaved what was stolen from us …
However, a failed plan lands me in the last place I imagined, at the mercy of all four Dynasty princes—Julian, Levi, Roman, and Silas. They’re monsters, each with a heart rumored to be as cold as his icy skin. And what’s worse, thanks to the slip-up, my fate is suddenly theirs to decide.
It’s up to them whether I’ll swing from the gallows, and I’ve given them every reason to sentence me to such a fate. Yet, I felt something unexplainable when our paths first crossed.
Something that gives me hope.
We should be one another’s worst nightmare. Only, I’m beginning to wonder if, somehow … these four princes might be my saving grace.

The rules of Paradise are simple:
Everyone must work. Everyone must contribute. If you leave, you may never come back. Paradise is the new world, to question that is to question the law.
They have been drilled into us since the world ended and those bunker doors shut.
So why can’t I stop dreaming of more?

Decide to leave the only man I’ve ever loved and the only home I’ve ever known.
Everyday will be a fight for survival, but for once in my life, I finally feel free…if only my heart would accept that.

High Life at the End of the World – book 1 of 3 in the Preppers series by C&V Guyer
The end of the world started the day the alien spaceships appeared in the sky. They killed the men and took the women. Doing things to their minds, taking away their memories and intelligence, turning them into mindless sex slaves. The men that escaped their death rays went underground, living as mole people. And I’m the only woman left on the planet.
Okay, so I’m totally messing with you. I don’t have a clue how the end of the world happened. No one does. Could have been a terrorist attack or it could have just been mother nature finally fed up with taking all the crap the humans were dishing. All I know is that for the first time in my 19 years on this planet, I got lucky. Real damn lucky.
While the Ragers (that’s what I call them, anyway, feel free to make up your own name) stumble about the world, growling, snarling and looking generally angry, I am sipping my iced lemonade on my pool floatie. Working on my tan and just catching some rays.
Yeah, the universe decided I would survive the end of the world when it had my cousin ditch her job to spend the weekend with her boyfriend. She begged me to cover her shift as a maid for some million-dollar house in a gated community. Me, being the good cousin, I am, agreed to poke through a millionaire’s things under the pretense of cleaning. Don’t deny it, you would snoop too if you had the chance.
So yeah, there’s a pool, a giant library, an entertainment room and a state-of-the-art bunker completely stocked with food and supplies. Yup, you read that right! The millionaire is a super prepper! It’s seriously like the universe saved up all my good luck for one big life changing lucky break. But really, it can’t possibly get any better, right?
Oh, yeah, did I forget to mention the five hot guys that live in the community that could make even a female Rager stop and stare in awe? And did I mention the only other woman in the community is an old lady?
I’ll just be living the High Life at the End of the World if you need me.
This book is a post-apocalyptic Reverse Harem Romantic Comedy. It contains swearing, nudity, drugs, and hilariously horrible situations they should not be read with a full bladder! However, our characters believe in closing the bedroom door so please note that this book does NOT contain any hanky panky! Although innuendos are a plenty! 😉
My name is Inez Garner, and my story has sort of been told… But not. I’m turning twenty-three and find out I’m not human; I’m apparently a vampire. Sure, who hasn’t read that story? Oh, but I’m a princess. And there’s a zombie apocalypse—although I’m debating where the line is of apocalypse vs. post-apocalypse. There’s also a quest that I’m compelled to be on, and it might all be coming from the Goddess.
Awesome. It seems She has big plans for me. And I have to deal with ghosts. When I kill corrupted—the nice PC name people call zombies, as it’s not their fault they eat people—I then have to deal with their ghosts. Which is super when being hunted for years by some guys I don’t want to know better.
Add to everything, I have to apologize to heroines for judging them when they fall in bed with the hot guy and buy the story he gives. I get it now. Sex is splendid. I’m not one to believe a con, but he’s got answers I need, like why I have no memories before I was eighteen.
Plus, the fangs sort of sold it for me. I hope he forgives me for shooting him.
House of Garner is an apocalyptic hot burning WhyChoose romance with darker elements, strong language, violence, and a heroine who doesn’t let anyone get in her way.
Three Lykos shifters swore to protect Havana. But who will protect them from her?
With everyone bailing on my holiday party, I didn’t think the night could get any worse. Then three scorching hot men storm the club and demand I come with them. Thinking they’re cops, I run only to discover the flu vaccine is turning people into monsters.
Now my survival depends on Mason, Gabriel, and Liam. I should be terrified of their glowing eyes and the way they destroy any threat in our path, but all I can think about is claiming the fierce men as my own. All three of them…
My ex has threatened to eviscerate any man who touches me. Too bad the deadly Alpha male isn’t here. He’ll rue the day he broke my heart and ordered his three gorgeous friends to rescue me.

With no power to contain it, a virus was accidentally unleashed. The release of the NEX virus spread rapidly. Many people died within the first month. Most of the female population was wiped out. Those who survived the virus had fled to make shift cities, but even then, no one was safe.”

Now as an unlicensed medic, I travel what was once the southwestern United States, trading medical services for food, transportation, and shelter with the hopes of reaching Canada.
Because the United States is no more. And the lawless land that’s replaced it is a deadly place for a woman.
My worst fear comes true when I’m captured by the Steel Demons MC, the most ruthless biker gang in the Southwest. These men thrive on the violence and chaos brought on by the Collapse, and they’re eager to unleash it all on me.
It doesn’t even matter that the President’s dog likes me. I’m as good as dead.

What’s my secret? That’s something I intend to take to the grave.
When my best friend and the only person who knows who–and what–I really am gets selected for the Mating Games, I know the only way to save her is to try and win her for myself.
All I need to do is navigate three trials while not letting anyone know I’m a woman, or, and this might be even more important, that I have magic.
Easy, right? Easier than slaving away for all hours of the day swinging an ax in the mines. Or so I thought.
I certainly didn’t count on the one man I’ve longed for, the one man who stirs feelings of femininity and desire within me, to enter the games as well. Every minute that I’m there I’m risking everything. If I’m discovered I’ll become nothing more than a broodmare, but I can’t abandon the woman who is like family to the fate that the Divine would deem she have.
I’ll do whatever it takes to save her from the desolate future of becoming nothing more than a prize for the victor of the games. The only question is, will my secret still be intact by the time the trials are over? Or will I have condemned us both to a fate worse than death?
