Amber (Jewels Cafe) is book 1 of 12 in a new series all taking place in a little town called Silver Springs. If you recall, an earlier post of mine gave details about this little supe/human town and its upcoming 12 novels by 12 Indie Authors.

Amber was an absolutely lovable character. This was my first shifter novel where I have had the pleasure of reading about a bunny shifter (omg, he is adorable), and a chameleon shifter. Ever. Those two shifters alone piqued my interest before I even cracked open the book.
Blurb for Amber copied directly from Amazon –
I’m crushing on my best friend. But one sip of a spelled pumpkin spice latte, and two shifters are calling me their mate.
It’s hard enough being a chameleon shifter with wonky powers… but opening Jewels Cafe in a supernatural town like Silver Springs? Maybe not the best idea.
I thought I could work side by side with my best guy friend… but now I have to juggle hiding my crush for him and putting our cafe on the map. Because if no one in Silver Springs realizes that we’ve got this hidden gem soon, we might go out of business!
So what do we do? Create a signature drink with hints of pumpkin spice just in time for fall.
Surprise, surprise. I take one sip and I”m thrown for another loop. The sweetest bear shifter is drawn to me like honey. A sexy bunny shifter offers me his carrot. They don’t even seem to mind that I accidentally shift into everyone I meet.
But can my chameleon powers save Jewels Cafe? Can I juggle these two hot shifters and my childhood crush? And what happens when a spell threatens to tear us apart?
Amber is part of the Jewels Cafe series, a collection of reverse harem romances set in the same small town. Each book contains its own Happily Ever After. Be sure to explore the other titles in the series.

This was the first book I’ve had the pleasure of reading by Mia Harlan. I am currently signed up for her email newsletter, and can attest that she is quite humorous and helpful. For example, her most recent e-newsletter contained the Top 8 Epic Fails in Reverse Harem Romance (which i’ll definitely be checking out). And why her cat currently smells like champagne. Ha. 😂
Amber is exactly as the blurb states. A fun, quirky romance. It was cute, funny, and had lovable characters. Its a happy, light read with insta-love, and a hefty dose of shenanigans. And shenanigans are important as I consider myself an expert in them. Amber is a standalone PRN even if her character makes future appearances in the remaining 11 Silver Springs novels.
I think it’s pretty cool that as readers we get to meet a couple of the future book characters while reading. I enjoyed that Silver Springs was a town that had supes and humans living together without fear, or having to hide. That was also another first for me aside from the introduction to new shifter species. Altogether, a great read! I definitely recommend.
