“There’s too many Academy books out right now!” – Said no one ever. However, I feel like they will be winding down before too long for the next popular trope. That’s just how things work in the book world. *shrugs* If you’re curious why there is such a large concentration of Academy’s & Bully RH’s, I might be able to shed a little light on that. Indie authors need to follow the bouncing ball. They follow what’s popular for readers, and poof we receive more books. Before social media the author’s could set the tone for what was popular. Now with social media the fans tend to control what is popular. I apologize if you’ve seen some of these same titles before on other lists. If you did it is because they will have more than 1 trope element. I promise I am not trying to be repetitive. As always, Happy Reading! – Quare Eligere

Welcome to the Sanctuary
Here, potential goddesses are spirited away...
...and are given servants?
After a horrible break up with my ex-boyfriend, I meet a man with a goat's head.
A goat's head.
He takes me to an academy where I'm told I'm the daughter of a Greek god. There isn't anything particularly god-like about me, except for wicked ukulele skills, so I'm taken by surprise.
But never mind my lack of powers. I'm more concerned about the four men who are assigned to me—my vassals.
Two of them are happy to serve me. I'm more than okay with licking them. The other two, though?
They don't seem to want me on their team.
Ugh. Why can't everybody just get along?
18+. WhyChoose Romance.
From Book 1: An academy reverse harem fantasy romance series.
I shouldn’t be here, and everyone knows it.
Blackbriar Academy is an enchanted school on a magical island, and everyone wants in. It’s a home away from home for the most advanced mages in the world—and only the absolute best of the best are given an invitation.
By some freak accident, I managed to get one.
If I pass the trials, I get to stay. With nowhere else to go, Blackbriar is my one shot at having a real life, and I won’t let anyone take this from me.
But there’s a catch.
It turns out the people on this island are being trained to hunt the darkness—basically, they’re being trained to hunt me.
To survive, I have to hide what I am. As a half-mage, I shouldn't have any magic at all. And yet, my natural abilities are almost impossibly powerful—and incredibly illegal. Over history, magic like mine has corrupted the souls of those who were born with it. They’ve all gone dark—razing towns and murdering hundreds of thousands throughout history.
All but me, and I have no idea why.
As the trials get more and more challenging, it’s clear I’m being hunted. If I’m caught… I die.
At Blackbriar Academy, nothing is ever as it seems... but I have nowhere else to go.
Nothing, and no one, will stand in my way.
The Trials of Blackbriar Academy is a full-length novel with a powerfully magical heroine, a riveting storyline, and an alternative relationship dynamic that supports our badass heroine's right to choose more than one man. Get ready for a heart-pounding story filled with an academy fantasy romance unlike anything you’ve read before.
Buckle in for heart-pounding action, breathtaking magic, deadly assassins, four drop-dead gorgeous leading men, lots of toned muscles, and most importantly—a young woman’s journey of justice, self-discovery, and freedom.
What if you had to hit pause on your life and rewind? Just when you were ready to fast forward, prepared for anything but your past skipping through your victory lap.
Tess Sinclair thought she had it all figured out, or at least, locked down for those last few months of prerequisite classes and working weekend shifts to earn tuition. One phone call from child services changes all her plans and she is forced to move back home.
Maddy. Mad as sin. Mom.
Tess may have turned eighteen, but now she feels like an adult going backwards. There are sibling fights to break up without joining them. Dinner recipes to fake from the can because her mother's too medicated to recite the ingredients. Being the new girl at the final year at high-school is a whole other level of teenage torture that she should have outgrown.
Ditto to boy crushes.
The good boy gone bad, his devilishly smart twin, and the hot jock that normally wouldn't give her the time of day, forget make a play. All led by a dark prince that finds out her sneakers are made of glass. They ought to be the kings of the school and Tess the poor, bullied girl from the wrong side of the tracks. This Cinderella tale has been told before, with a charming but predictable ending.
Except, no one seems to have gotten the tropes right. The prince has a wicked stepmother. The jock struggles to hide he has more brains than brawn. The rich, heartthrob twins are bullied by the masses instead of put on a pedestal. Tess is the only one willing to come to their rescue.
Can she figure out the hidden secret twisting their roles?
If Tess can't run, then she'll learn to fight fate to get her victory lap to the finish line.
Warnings/Triggers for references to mental health, institutionalization and stereotypes. Mention of child abuse/neglect. There is adult intimacy, violence and language as well as the usual drugs and alcohol with these darker themes. Oh, and lame jokes. I have plenty of those. Some may offend since they can take a religious tone as I poke fun of the Catholic school. You were warned.
In this book the main female character ends up with multiple love interests at the end of the series in a HFN.
How about a 'bully themes' RH book with a different twist? The MFC comes to the rescue of her bullied harem and they work together to overcome their challenges.
I would NOT group this with other bully romances out there and don't want to disappoint anyone expecting otherwise. This book contains bullying of the main characters but not to each other, which is the twist, a bully romance where the harem comes together to deal with it.
“We need to mate,” I said firmly.
“How?” he asked, darting his wild glance at the iron bars between us then at me.
"Welcome to Half Death Academy." That's what they call my new school—because only half the students survive.
Rule #1: Keep your head down and don't mess with the four gorgeous demigods who rule the school.
Rule #2: When the demigods try to kill you, lie down and die.
Too bad I never was very good at following the rules. And when my forbidden power awakens, I'll make them regret they try to make me their bitch.
Magic Trials stars four handsome and cruel demigods and a tough heroine. Heart-pounding action blends with steamy romance.
Thoughts from Paige
I'm confused about how old our MC is, and her potential LI alternated between calling her woman and girl in his mind which made me a tiny bit uncomfortable. However, I am intrigued with the setup and have added this to my TBR pile.
Magic exists. I know—it’s in my blood.
Unfortunately, not all people from magical bloodlines have powers, and at 22, I’m several years past the age they usually appear. So I’ve resigned myself to a boring, magic-less life.
Then something strange happens…
I get stuck in the middle of a bar fight, and instead of just punching the guy back, I blow a hole in the wall.
So… I guess I do have powers. But they’re unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This is definitely not normal.
And it seems the magical authorities agree, because they give me a choice: either I go to school to learn to control my crazy new magic, or they’ll take it away. Permanently.
Now if I can just survive the witchy mean girls determined to take me down a peg, the mysterious attacks on students, the three hot-as-hell guys who don’t seem turned off by my prickly exterior, and the professor who makes me long for detention, maybe I’ll get out of here in one piece.
Wouldn’t bet on it though.
Welcome to the Academy of Unpredictable Magic.
Spark is the first book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series, a medium-burn reverse harem story featuring a fierce chick and the four hot men who fall in love with her.
